Nintendo UK’s ex-general manager David Yarnton recently told UK trade publication MCV that the company hopes that consumers will use Wii U every day. Yarnton reiterated that the device can be used for web browsing, and watching online content. Do you expect that you’ll be using your Wii U console every day?

I’ll use it but mainly for gaming. I never use my system for anything but that. The browsers on consoles are pretty terrible and while its nice that Wii U will have YouTube support, I don’t see it looking to good. Which I don’t blame NIntendo, but the fact its not something that’s built to be seen on a TV. I’ll give it a try for sure, but eh.
The browser looks okay on this, simple because it has a touch screen, so can imagine it being similar to the Safari browser on an iPhone

Currently I have a PS3, Wii, PSP, 3DS, DSiXL and iPhone 4S (the last two belong to my fiancé) to serve as test platforms. With more people accessing the web via mobile devices, Smart TVs and game consoles by 2014, designing for mobile first is of the utmost importance. Especially if designing for a client that is in an industry that gets a lot of business through shows and conventions, as their clients will want to access information on the spot about that vendor or service provider.

Every company hopes consumers use their products everyday, but no, Nintendo; and I DEFINITELY don’t need it. I’m buying it to play games when I’m not working/school/hanging out with family/friends/girlfriend/and pursuing more important hobbies. So you get maybe 8 hours a week.

currently I have my PC connected to 2 display.. one is normal monitor, another is a tv.. I use the TV to watch movies, or play games that use the gamepad.. and its kinda pain in the ass.. i had 2 speakers as well.. 1 is for when is use the monitor, another is for the tv.. so I need some methods to interchange between them as well… not to mention cluttering the area…
I tried to use the ps3 to replace my pc as a media hub… it gave me more head ache than it should… the folder system, the UI, its sucks.. it takes time just to get something playing on the screen, even a music that I want.. to copy from my portable hd to the ps3 is another thing… playing direct from hd also limited… the only thing good about the ps3, is the blu ray.. apart from the games of course..
I just had one thing to say nintendo.. If you solve this problem of mine, to replace my pc as my media hub.. im sold.. rest assured I will use your console everyday…
