Nintendo has published some new information about the long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time that can be seen on the game’s official page only via a Google search. The information was discovered by Reddit user Lousy Username and it contains a description that isn’t visible on the official page itself. We obviously know very little about the remake’s gameplay due to the short teaser trailer. However, Nintendo’s description says that it will feature “stunning visuals, updated designs, and timeless gameplay.” Though it should be noted that nothing is mentioned in the listing about additional content like the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy.

Updated designs is pretty vague, like does it mean better character designs or dungeon designs? As long as they fix up the water temple and its lame boss, I am perfectly fine if it’s a 1:1 remake. But at the same time, Zelda remasters go above and beyond, so we have to wait and see for more information.
Yes. Think of it as a upgrade because they want to revamped the old graphics and character models into a new one to let it perform extremely well on modern Nintendo console even if it is a remake.
I’ll be honest… I found absolutely nothing wrong with the water t d mple in my first playthrough… Just had to be focused and methodical and I ended up actually enjoying it… including the Dark Link surprise fight in between.
I don’t think it’s strictly “bad” or “poorly designed as some insist. I think it’s more a matter of taste than they think and it might even be a matter of personal ability in one small regard.
Timeless gameplay sounds like it’s not going to stray very far from the original which I’m a little disappointed by. I know the original like the back of my hand and have been playing it for 30 years so I was hoping they would have gone for a more expanded and reimagined game to reflect how things have progressed in that time. Whilst it will still be great to see it looking better it’s a missed opportunity for me. Hopefully I’m reading too much into it though

What needs changing with the gameplay? It’s the best part of the game, why change it?
Personally, I was thinking of just a simple up-res of OoT3D, not a hyper-detailed graphics overhaul which I think could be overkill. But I’ll wait to see why Nintendo thinks it’s got something future-proof here
I think he needs more moves like he had in Twilight Princess.
So basically nothing really new if you don’t care about graphics and voice acting.
Really wondering if this will be a straight up faithful remake or a reimagining in a new engine. Like if it’ll be open world like BotW/TotK, but more closed off until you do certain dungeons / get certain items.
Even if they keep the original formula, they’ll likely modernize the controls. No camera movement with second stick will fill so odd in today’s age.

They added second stick camera control to MM3D via the New 3DS C-Stick, so I think it’s likely there will be those types of upgrades
Its honestly a revamped for the old graphics for the game like most companies always do for their remakes as long there is no bug problems, poor framerates and no rush time schedules.
If layout wise it’s a One to One remake, then zi do have big issue with the redesign of Link. With a reimagining you can make redesigns make more sense and work better, but if its the same exact game, I rather have Link look like his Ocarina design. I’ll be real. I think the Link in the trailer is a downgrade. Theres a guy on YouTube that has been remaking Ocarina for years, I rather have Link snd the game look like that if it’s just going to be one to one again. Ocarina Link looks great, and looks heroic and bad ass when older. The Nintendo trailer looks like Link was designed by some American gane Studio. ocarina had a Amazing Art style that would look amazing Remade. Go look on YouTube for the fan made remake.
The reveal being basically no more than a screenshot, was maybe Nintendo bracing everyone for “AAA” Link. Doubtless there will be those who find that weird and not in harmony with the original feel
If it’s the same game layout wise, I rather have had Ocarina of time 3D and Majora’s Mask 3D brought to the Switch or Switch 2 Luigi’s Mansion 2 styled. Nintendo probably wanted to build hype. People would have complained if they brought the 3DS versions over, but it would have been better snd more content even though they messed up Majora’s Mask 3D in some large ways. The Games would have looked fine in HD with some touch ups.
Yes, that’s what I wanted for years now, just put out the 3D versions. They keep the original geometry where it’s critical (the floor map and platforms) and are tasteful with everything else. Perfect. But I guess Nintendo wants something that will impress on a modern visual level and show off the Switch 2 rendering power

A 1:1 remake would be pretty boring. It reminds me of those youtube videos where they just take a N64 swap out the textures and models for HD ones. I would assume this would at least go the extra step of doing new animations but… I’d still be disappointed.
They need to keep what works the same and add/expand on what isn’t going to work. I mean, how is the original Hyrule Field going to be exciting if it’s a 1:1 remake? Heck, look at Lon Lon Ranch. It’d be crazy if they kept the horse racing the same when a 2D Zelda (Echoes of Wisdom) already has more fun horse racing.
idk… it’s probably going to be mostly 1:1 like the 3D remakes were, with just QoL updates… and maybe we’ll get lucky and they’ll add a brand new Master Quest with new remixes of dungeons so there’s at least something new for veterans.

And even if it makes you a meal, cleans the room and tells you good night before you go to sleep… it is the same game from back in the day of the N64. Hell, it was remade even for the 3DS. How many remakes does it need more??? Just put it in the NOS Emulator games and done. Enough of all those damn remakes. Make new games again!!!
I honestly do think it has potential though. It might be that remake like rayman legends where we hear about it before it’s announced and we are like “why this game?” but then we get a trailer that shows how much effort they put into it and many people switch their opinions. I mean we haven’t seen gameplay yet, but I honestly am really excited for this. I would have prefered a new zelda game or a twilight princess remake, but that small glimp of the graphics really has me excited. I wasn’t orginally on board with this idea, but after seeing the trailer, I can’t wait to see more!
Yeah, I have the N64 and 3DS versions as well as the bonus version with Master Quest included in Wind Waker on GC, so it’s not ‘stunning graphics’ or ‘timeless gameplay’ that’s going to make me buy this game again; I need real new features..
