A promising native Banjo-Kazooie PC port is coming next month

Banjo Kazooie

There’s a fresh new Banjo-Kazooie PC port coming in July which is a native port and is titled, Lighthouse. This particular release has seen the entire source code for the game has been decompiled and then rewritten allowing for much higher resolutions and higher framerates. This modified code will will allow the team to introduce bug fixes, new features and mod support. The video teases Super Mario 64 content and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker content and even more intriguing surprises.

  • In addition, a standalone randomizer that includes full note, jinjo, mumbo token, empty honeycomb and jiggy shuffle, as well as ability shuffle; these can be shuffled across levels, so you can get jinjos for any level at any time.
  • Also, we have romhack support! This video showcases Jiggies of Time, Nostalgia 64, Lair Witch Project, and The Bear Waker from Kurko. As of right now, theoretically we have support for any hack that was made with Banjo’s Backpack, as long as it doesn’t utilize MIPS code injection.
  • And, last but not least, Anchor co-op! It is shown in both vanilla and romhack play, and will also be randomizer compatible.
  • Oh, right, one more thing. We have started discussing implementations for Archipelago support. Work may be started before the release, but the initial release will not include Archipelago support unless a miracle happens. Just something to look forward to as development continues!

  1. I love the way you call this a release when it’s someone with no life with to much time on their hands lol

  2. Rare Replay not on PC? We need that on Switch also. But Microsoft literally still has the Vicarious Visions devs at Blizzard same office and everything just hand them Banjo to remake and all old Activision and Xbox IP.

I would love a Rare Replay on Switch with all Banjo-Kazooie titles but Microslop won’t give us that. And yes I’m calling them Microslop aside from the slop games they are releasing but mostly for the AI bullplop.

  3. I rather have Toys for Bob, would be the best in house choice but they are already handing Spyro and Crash. They could do all three and take turns rotating between the three but I wouldnt want them to rush it or run their development team too thin.
