A Diablo title was actually in the works for two of Nintendo’s handhelds, according to “Stay Awhile and Listen,” which is an upcoming series that reveals information regarding Blizzard Entertainment’s franchise.
‘Diablo Junior,’ a prequel to the original Diablo, was once planned for Game Boy Color and/or Game Boy Advance. The prequel, which was canceled due to the pricey production costs of handheld games, is said to have borrowed mechanics from the original Pokémon games for Game Boy.
Now Diablo III for Wii U doesn’t seem too farfetched, right?
“One of those was given the working title Diablo Junior, a game tentatively planned for the Game Boy Color and/or the Game Boy Advance, depending on market share and other business-y factors.”
“Diablo Junior was intended as a single-player-only prequel to the original game. Taking a page from Pokémon’s book, the team wanted to release three cartridges, each packing a different hero in the warrior-rogue-sorcerer vein as well as items that players would have to trade for in order to collect. Heroes started in a unique town before heading into dungeons and wilderness zones.”

If there was a game that could say it was the direct competition for Pokemon as the best seller game for GBC/GBA, that would be a Diablo II game, why this idea do not got the Green light?
If these games existed and the way I bought pokemon games back then, I would of bought all 3 versions. I had all 3 versions of the GS games lol

i actually quite enjoy diablo 3. and i used to play the hell out of diablo 2. its kindof sad that diablo 3 is just one of those games where people will gladly just throw it under the bus even though its really good. oh well
