Level 5 has just announced a brand new Professor Layton game for iOS, Android and the Nintendo 3DS. Details regarding the game are fairly scarce, but the game’s genre is “role play puzzle.” The demo, which was showcased on a smartphone, showed a 3D world which players could rotate with the camera.

Wait, never mind. It isn’t really a Professor Layton game. It’s “Layton 7” with a whole new set of characters and not part of the Professor Layton continuity.
I guess it’s like the Layton Brothers which was also on mobile. Meh, no biggie.

Yeah. I assume the “7” has to do with the seven characters. It’s not really a Professor Layton game.

Guys, it’s NOT a spinoff. It was stated a while ago that Azran Legacy would be the last Layton game to feature the Professor himself.

if they run the extra mile in leveraging the 3ds’ unique capabilities, it might just end up beeing the best version

Nintendo doesn’t make Layton games. They only publish in the USA
According to this, level 5 was the devs but it also looks like a company within nintendo, so to me that means nintendo.
