Nintendo has removed the latest Wind Waker HD trailer, seen above, from their site after realizing that the ad unintentionally revealed the existence of a Wii U bundle for the game. At the end of the ad, an image can be seen featuring a Wii U gamepad inscribed with Hylian writing, a detail that gamers quickly pointed out. After a couple weeks worth of speculation about a bundle version of the console that includes the game, the ad confirmed the rumors, however, Nintendo is clearly not ready to make an official announcement.

Although Nintendo has refused to play its hand regarding the Wind Waker bundle, the game’s release date has finally been confirmed for both Europe and North America as October 4th. While the game is a remake, its conversion to HD graphics and other improvements have made The Wind Waker HD one of the most eagerly anticipated titles for Wii U. Check out the original trailer above, which covers several details about the game’s new Hero Mode.

  1. LOL, now I’m going to play the waiting game until the bundled version is released. That mistake is so gonna cost them! JK. I’m still not interested in buying WWHD.

  2. I’m still hoping for a better special edition Wii U than the one that this video showed at the end. For one, it shouldn’t be black (again). And secondly, the Gamepad AND the console should have Link printed somewhere on it.

  3. “The Wind Waker HD one of the most eagerly anticipated titles for Wii U”.

Says who? It’s a 10 year old Gamecube game with a lick of HD polish. Nothing new worthwhile for me to pick this up again. They had a chance to fix the problem of the original, namely reinstate the 2 missing dungeons. Here’s an idea, make new dungeons if the others have been used elsewhere.

They couldn’t be bothered and so I can’t be bothered to give them my money.

    1. Somewhat agree…

However they already stated that this release was both a testing ground for the new Zelda U and to improve things High Commander Aunoma wasn’t satisfied with in the Gamecube version…

      1. So therefore, it is worth your while to pick it up again. While I’m at it, the other 2 dungeons were told to me that twilight princess used them, again, you’ve already played in them if that is true. Problem is, we will never know which ones accept the team and designer who made them. I see no reason why you can’t help test out the HD qualities in wind waker. After all, its for the new zelda and the reason why the 10year old gamecube said “go for it”. Think about it…

          1. Ahhh but you don’t have the system…if you were truly gonna support high command, wouldn’t you have the system first? I can see if you already had it then I’ll say other wise unless your a gamefreak like me and collect games and consoles, another hint on why I want the bundle. To me, it would be the perfect start so I can crush you on brawl or the new SSB.

            1. I’m a gamefreak but I prefer new experiences first before old ones…

Well you crushing me on anything is impossible by scientific calculations…

  4. “Oh no, they found out about our awesome package deal.. we don’t want them to get excited until a week before launch!”

Idiots need to stop hiring Japanese marketers and throw some money at that department already because I’m starting to get tired of this ridiculous black hole that is advertising.

You want to sell games and hardware Nintendo? Then shove it down peoples throats on youtube, online vendors, gaming sites, TELEVISION, magazines and newspapers. Nintendo Directs seriously don’t count because only people that own a Wii U or go completely out of their way to find information on your products will find it.

I love their games, but they need to understand that being Japanese in all aspects may not work in all regions.
