Deutsch LA, the creative agency on PlayStation in the U.S for the last five years, has joined Nintendo after being dropped by Sony for Bartle Bogle Hegarty in February. The creative agency will work on e-commerce efforts and create traditional ads for some of Nintendo’s high-profile games and will lead also lead the digital and social media marketing side of things. Nintendo previously considered five agencies before selecting Deutsch.

      1. The real Spyro is dead. I don’t know who the fuck that look-a-like is suppose to be other than another generic dragon from another generic Internet fantasy game.

      1. They were cool or funny to watch, but they really didn’t do anything for the games or systems. PlayStation’s marketing has been pretty terrible over the past few years.

  2. Did Nintendo have a different company market for them? Also, if the money used to advertise comes from Nintendo, and they haven’t really been advertising, won’t that mean these guys won’t be able to work freely?

    1. Think about your question…Nintendo of America wouldn’t hire an advertising firm to not advertise. Their goal is to sell systems and software and the way to do that is to make sure people want it, hence hire experts in that field.

I know that, but what I was mainly inquiring was whether or not Nintendo has been advertising their own products until now. If they have, then hiring outside work is the smartest thing they could do, because their advertising sucks. If they’ve been using another company, then that company is terrible.

But I asked the second question because I was also curious if maybe Nintendo hasn’t been advertising on purpose.
Maybe they were saving it for Oct/Nov?

    1. Did you literally just Google “Pikachu Hitlter”?

You need to grow up. I’m sure there’s no way you’re actually an adult with the way you act, but at least -try- not to act like a child.

        1. Hence why I said better. Businesses need to save money while still being effective. If someone can do the same thing with the same quality for less, why not go with it?

        2. I find clients switch Ad agency pretty often. Its usually not about price but finding a different hook. They probably wanted to freshen up their brand (also visual identity) and went with someone new.

Its pretty much like roulette in the visual design world when the economy is down.

  3. I can’t wait to see what commercials these guys put out, NoA definitely needs good Adverts at the moment, epic ones at that. I’ve seen what this company can deliver, and I can tell everyone, IT’S GOING TO BE FUCKING AWESOME.
