Sega Sammy Holdings has finalized a deal to purchase the bankrupt Index Corporation, parent company of Atlus, after a month of rumors about the sale, reports the Nikkei. The deal was struck to the tune of 14 billion yen – lower than the amount speculated last month – and will bring Atlus under ownership of Sega. In mid-August, MNN reported that Index was on the verge of finding a buyer, with Sega Sammy expressing the most interest.
Shin Megami Tensei developer Katsura Hashino recently stated that despite the financial troubles of Index, new Atlus titles are in the works and progressing steadily, meaning these titles will now fall under Sega’s brand.

Wow, first one. As long as Sega Buying Atlus doesn’t conflict with Atlus games on PS3-4, or Xbox360-one.
Why the FUCK would Atlus have a game on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One? I don’t think they ever have, they are strictly Sony/Nintendo. And lets be honest there is no more big games for PS3 and Xbox 360 period. Atlus games should remain ONLY on Nintendo systems and Sony can keep Persona. But all others should be Nintendo exclusives or multiplats between Sony and Nintendo.
Xbox got Persona 4 Arena. And remember that GTA V and Batman Arkam Origins are still big games for the previous consoles.

Atlus is the the only third party that I think it understands his costumers. They work on exclusives for both Nintendo and Sony and they give Microsoft the multiplats that base care for. I don’t think any other have that figured out yet like atlus.

Dragon’s Crown is a fun game if you like Golden Axe games. I like the Fighter then the Elf.
Yeah it looks really fun. I’ll end up trying all the characters, but the Elf looks good to me, same with the Amazon.
I haven’t try Amazon or Dwarf yet. My friend didn’t like Amazon but he switch over to Dwarf and he love it very much. I try the Fighter, Elf, Wizard, and Sorceress. To let you know Wizard is pretty much like Sorceress. I prefer Wizard than Sorceress. Sorceress is more of the support character than anyone else.

That’s the thing. Some 3rd parties don’t sell well on Nintendo consoles which is why most of the 3rd parties don’t give a crap about Wii U. Sure you can make an excuses that we don’t buy 3rd party games due to crappy version but that doesn’t stop them from doing so. Maybe if we support the 3rd party games on Nintendo console really well then 3rd parties will start to care.
Atlus games sell on Nintendo consoles cuz they are bight quality. No matter how much a developer says if I buy this game I will get others they make if it is crappy is crappy and I wont buy it.

Because Nintendo gained a lot of exclusives from Atlus like Shin Megami Tensei IV, Fire Emblem X Shadow Dragon, Knights in Nightmare, Devil Survivor 1+2, etc. Plus Nintendo’s strategy isn’t to support third parties rather than to buy out companies and make them 2nd party developers for them. Having Atlus as a 2nd party developer would have been extremely beneficial for the company especially during this rough time it’s going through. But yeah just research how many games from Atlus have appeared on Nintendo platforms and you will see why this is a big loss.
