Capcom has released its annual report and says that Monster Hunter 4 sales even took the development team by surprise. The company says that the game was met by overwhelming popularity and created a huge buzz even comparable to a sort of social phenomenon. Thankfully, Capcom announced that the west will be getting Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate for Nintendo 3DS sometime in early 2015.

“Furthermore, projected sales were basically achieved for not only “Dead Rising 3” (for Xbox One) that has been geared toward the European and North American markets, “Resident Evil Revelations” (for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC), but also “Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies” (for Nintendo 3DS).”
“Furthermore, the downloadable versions, which respond to changes in forms of distribution, contributed to expansion of sales by growing significantly both overseas and domestically in line with the progress in diversification of business models, including the better-than-expected performance of “DuckTales: Remastered” for overseas markets in addition to the aforementioned “Monster Hunter 4″ showing strong sales.”
Really? Considering it sold less than the PSP version, I don’t see why the surprise

^This. If Nintendo sits on their ass much longern and doesnt acquire Capcom or the franchise itself, the MH franchise is going to move onto other platforms and that would severely hurt 3DS/ future handheld sales. Its already rumored to be coming to xone, ps4, and vita for the G series.
I doubt they will move if the 3DS is selling that much and the franchise was successful on that system

No it is accurate. Its for the MH4: Frontier G series. This expansion is rumored to likely land on a wide range of platforms from PC, Xone, PS4, and Vita… aloong with WiiU and 3Ds
And you probably spend next to nothing creating it because why do anything new? Just have some dumb wall climbing mechanic that probably will be more of a annoyance than “revolutionary game mechanic”.
Freedom Wars is gona just wreck Monster Hunter, or it would sales wise if the Vita sold actual consoles, but gameplay wise, you’re stick Attack on Titan moves into a Hunting game.
You can say that about any game franchise that is popular and warrants a sequel. (Pokemon, call of duty, etc.)
Actually the new climbing mechanic is amazing.
Why are they surprised everytime?
It’s like they start up the next Monster Hunter development and say “Okay, this is it guys. This is the one that will sell poorly…”
Then the game sells better than before…
I just wish I didn’t have to wait until 2015… Hopefully Titanfall will deliver.
Well of course it sold well.
Its mechanics are solid, the weapons are varied and require actual practice to master, the monsters are widely varied and interesting to fight no matter how good your armor and weapons become, and the co-op is some of the best times you’ll ever have with buddies.
It would be a great idea to create a Wii U version of Monster Hunter 4 U when it comes to the states. I’d snatch that up in a heart-beat.
