Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin has revealed that Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot forced the team to showcase the game at E3 2012. Morin said that the team were reluctant to do so as they thought it was too early to show the game. Watch Dogs has been delayed on the Wii U till a later date.
“They forced us to go at E3 2012, We didn’t know what the hell those new consoles would be, so Watch Dogs really has worked on [seventh]-gen systems since the start. But we always pushed the ideas, the design, the core of Watch Dogs in such a way that we felt it would fit well with what we thought would be the future of games.
“Yves was the one who wanted us to go at that E3, even though we felt it was a bit early, and in the end I think he was right.”

So…
The Ubisoftians are having trouble within their inner circles…
Good good…
Indeed this is good.
We just need to set up more defense around the perimeter to destroy off the Ubisoftians.
Agreed, their Anti Anti-Attacks cannot be tolerated anymore…
you guys crack me up with all the faux-intrigue/empire blather. i want to score some of this dialog. (like, musically….)
Well…
We could use a theme for our empire…
Last time I went to this site, it was troll filled. Now it’s simply fanboy filled.
Ubisoft is still supporting Nintendo. And you need it that way at the end of the day
I never knew Einstein played Nintendo. This is good for the knowledge and wisdom from him.
Well since we “borrowed” his theory back then about relativity, we altered time to our image…
At least it’s better than trolls…
I think people have trolls and fans mixed. Rabid fans are just that, trolls and nothing more. There are plenty of people who aren’t stupid assholes about everything and still are fans of a said system.
So I don’t see the difference or how one is better than the other as they are the same to me.
Well, fanboys mostly attack trolls, and not fans. But yeah, both can be annoying, as both are the same stubborn thing, defending their opinion no matter what!
“Ubisoft is still supporting Nintendo.” Yeah, by delaying the Wii U version of Watch_Dogs to support the other versions, delaying Rayman Legends for the same reason, not putting The Division and The Crew on Wii U. Thanks Ubisoft -_- thanks for the support.
This^
I know, right? Apparently people love having their boyfriend/girlfriend (Ubisoft) beat the shit out of them with a bat. But hey, least they are getting some kind of support, right? lol
Jesus christ!! Is there gonna be a Watch Dogs newevery freaking day?!? Seriously, every single day I open this site and there’s a topic about this game. I’m sick of it already and we don’t even know if there’s gonna be a game at all…Change the topic!
Indeed, it’s so sad that it was a game that excited me a lot and now because of these stupid Ubisoftians, they made me not getting it anymore…

Oh poor you! Forced to read simply look at this Watch Dogs news. When other people (like me) are 100% anticipating this game. It does fit into Nintendo news, and I would tip My Nintendo News every time I see more Watch Dogs news.
Just Guilemot being Guilemot, he doesn’t give a shit about what the developers want to do.
Sounds to me like he got inspired by the Electron methods…
Guillemont knew what he was doing.
Watch Dogs was pretty much the first game that confirmed Next Gen consoles. It put itself out there and we all said simultaniously “This isn’t for current gen consoles”. It was the prettiest game at E3 2012, and seeing this game first at E3 2012, and all the others during the PS4 reveal, or E3 2013. Watch Dogs was the one that immediately stood out.
Sounds like Ubisoft is really going downhill. Shame too, they played a big role in my childhood and early teen years. Games like Beyond Good and Evil, Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30, the Far Cry series, Prince of Persia : The Sands of Time and Rayman all are some of the best games I’ve played. Seeing old game publishers going downhill is becoming more and more common. Hell, even EA used to publish and make great games.
@Albert Einstein everybody is excited about a certain game and that’s alright, but this is about the quality of this site’s content. Every time somebody related to the game moves a hair they report it here. This is a Nintendo site, not a Whatch Dogs site. Specially when it’s pure speculation: “WD is coming to WiiU”, “WD probably won’t have a WiiU release”, “WD will be released for the WiiU after all”, “Some guy from there just said he won’t comment”, “Some other guy says this version is cancelled”, “etc etc etc”. How is this exciting?
I’m excited about the new SSB and I like to read the updates about it, but even though it’s also a bit excessive at times at least there are actually content updates and roster confirmations.
I always wondered why they revealed the game so early. E3 2013 would have been a better time.
It’s always a good idea to through the FREAKIN’ CEO OF YOUR COMPANY under the bus
Reblogged this on Curiosidades na internet.
im still getting the wii u version regadless of their troubles, as long as they make the wii u version not crap
““Yves was the one who wanted us to go at that E3, even though we felt it was a bit early, and in the end I think he was right.””
no he wasn’t.. that is self evident by the huge delay…
and i think he (morin) doesn’t actually think that.. i believe he secretly thinks guillemot is a giant asswipe as i’ve come to believe…
he may look sympathetic and appear like a nice guy but i believe behind the facade he’s just as machiavellian as other game industry CEOs with just about as much experience with games… that would at least explain the stupid business decisions ubisoft has made in the recent (and not so recent) past and might redeem the corporation as a whole to some extent in my eyes
Although Ubisoft delays game and sometimes treat Wii U fans crap. They and their developers are still the one who showed that gamepad integration could enhance gameplay. Even better than Nintendo. 3D world did not show full use of gamepad, and it seems Mario Kart won’t either…
