Nintendo of Europe has offered a whole host of 3DS home menu themes over the past few months – and adding to the ever-growing list are two more NES backgrounds. NES Fire Mario and NES Balloon Fighter will be available from Friday, January 30, at the regular €1.99 / £1.79 in the Nintendo eShop and theme store. Both backgrounds join last week’s three NES themes including, Donkey Kong, Ice Climbers and Kid Icarus’ Pit. You can take a look at the new themes in the image above.

I only got the two Zelda themes so far, planning to get more of them if they release any! Shuffle is a great feature to have here, as it’s easyer to use all themes one buy, and therefore buying more.
Haven’t really used my 3DS in ages, though, and except for MM3D, I don’t see it being used much in the future for me. Great console, but my Wii U has Smash and Hyrule Warriors, and they uses what little time I have to play…
they need to release Badge Center, the themes in that are cool and so are the custom icons…
I would be interested to see Nintendo’s sales data on these themes. They’re a great idea, but after buying a couple for £1.80 each (or however much they are) – and not enjoying them, I certainly won’t buy any more. I like my free Sonic, Metal Gear, and Shovel Knight themes, but the rest suck. Besides the ALBW one, which is pretty cool. Worth the money though? No.

what is the point of these stupid updates? everyone who has a 3ds connected to the internet will get a notification. oh and America gets a lot of themes too, but i don’t see reports on those. don’t start though, this site doesn’t need more spam.
Why not start releasing these on Wii U? Feel like 3DS gets all the love…
Or indies or exclusives but all DRM/Kinect BS to go around. Its why you see them bitchy and calling other systems crap because they got more.
