Most of us have fallen in love with Smosh Games series of Honest Video Game Trailers. The latest video see’s them tackle the recently released Mario Party 10, which to be honest was a little bit hit and miss with critics. I hated it, the games only last 30 minutes. I played every board with 3 others in 2 1/2 hours. Very little skill involved. Basically luck of the roll and the only items you get are different dice with limited numbers and different speeds. Most games were never close, complete walkovers with winner usually ahead by 30 stars or more going into final battle so they didn’t even need to try and were pretty much guaranteed to win unless the runner up was lucky enough to win both bonuses. Haven’t even tried amiibo party yet, but I doubt it will be any better. Bowser party was even worse, with bowser players mini games more forced than actual skill…Looks like I still have to resort to Gamecube Mario Parties with my friends until Nintendo stops ignoring us, and brings Mario Party back to its roots…A Collection of old Mario Parties would be nice to hold us over…
I really though that when they changed the basic gameplay of getting stars, putting all characters on a straight path in a car, instead of the previous method of stars randomly changing places on the board and each player making its own path, on Mario Party 9, it really broke the excitment of the game. It was still somehow fun but not as frantic as before. I was expecting Nintendo to come back to the classic set of rules but when I saw that they decided to keep the “car” method of advancing on the board……. I really felt dissapointed.

1. There’s no such thing as “next gen” so NSMBU and Super Mario 3D World are Mario Wii U games. 2. There is a new Zelda game coming out. 3. Nintendo is planning the future of their hardware, mobile games is the first step. This is my least favorite Honest Trailer not just because of the ignorance but just because this guy traded his bombastic personality for rage face. The Order was a much better trailer which sums up the problem with today’s games
