Mario Kart 8 200cc vs 150cc On Piranha Plant Pipeway

Want to see just how ludicrously fast the upcoming 200CC mode is in Mario Kart 8 on Wii U? Well. Nintendo UK has put together a video showcasing the new mode on the fantastic Piranha Plant Pipeway race track. It certainly looks as though the new mode is going to be a blast to play for Mario Kart 8 veterans. The new DLC will be available for Wii U owners on April 23rd.

Thanks, WhiteEagle

        1. And they still didn’t update the online match making to allow players to vote for ANY track they want, except it’s still pre chosen by the game and I hate that shit.

          1. I think it was made like that on purpose so that people wouldn’t just choose the popular tracks from the entire game.

            1. And that’s still bullshit. It’s no wonder why I’m going back to playing MK7. Battle Mode there is awesome, I have a choice of what and any tracks I want to race in and at least, it doesn’t excuse it’s BS “voice chat” feature by limiting it in lobbies (I know it doesn’t have it so zip it)

              1. MK8 could use some unique battle mode courses, but the current ones don’t bother me. Everything else MK8 is offering outweighs a lack of battle mode tracks. But yeah, some unique ones for DLC would be cool.

  1. I’m not sure if this is going to be ridiculously fun to the point I’ll just laugh at how frequently I screw up orrrrr it’ll be ridiculously frustrating and annoying. I’m honestly not sure which it’ll be.

  2. Nine seconds faster than 150cc. Thats insane, I can’t wait to play this. I like the idea of having to brake around corners. It adds a whole new dimension to Mario Kart.. Everything the pros know, aka fire hopping, well you can forget it.

      1. Funny thing is, you were actually able to do that in Mario Kart 7’s version. I did wonder if this was changed in Mario Kart 8 to make it more fair, but you can do it in 200cc, haha.

    1. Having to brake? I’m excited for 200cc and all, but having to brake…that kinda sucks actually…brake…as in holding the B button?

This is my LEAST favorite Mario Kart level… actually, I despise Piranha Plant Slide.

Pisses me off so much. It’s so confined I get nailed with items all race long and come in like 8th.
