Nintendo seems to have struck gold with their amiibo toy line. It’s a great chance for fans to pick up officially licensed figurines of their favorite Nintendo characters. I know I jumped at the chance to pick up my Ness amiibo!
As it’s fairly known by now, some amiibo are harder to locate than others. The recently released Jigglypuff amiibo is bound to be one of those super rare figurines. The amiibo is a Target exclusive, and when pre-orders went live, the amiibo sold at a lightning fast 500 units a minute. This makes Jigglypuff the fastest selling item in Target.com history. Not only that, but the Jigglypuff amiibo garnered the website over a million views. In comparison, the second highest rated item gained a mere 20,000. Wow!
Jigglypuff is not the only exlcusive amiibo coming to Target, but the next exclusive amiibo is unknown as of now. Are you going to try your hand at picking up a Jigglypuff? Perhaps you should consider getting a Moon Stone to go with it!

I have no complaints on dlcs if the game is complete. If people want to spend more money on what they like, what’s the problem? I know there are games that sell the dlc like being a essential part of the game, but I just don’t spend my money on games like that. I didn’t see yet a amiibo offering a plus content that was essencial for the story/gameplay of the games.

I was handed the last jigglypuff and charizard figure in my target store. I felt lucky then but I feel much luckier now.
My brother got 3 Jigglypuff amiibos at Target (he always buys 3 for some reason). I only got 1. But at least I got one. I was more shocked at the fact that I actually found a Ness amiibo at Gamestop. I’m SO thankful I got there right when it opened. When wave 4 never even appeared on Gamestop.com, I didn’t think I’d ever get Ness (or ANY wave 4 amiibo). But I actually got them ALL but Greninja(mostly at Target).
It’s funny. I always fool myself into thinking that there will be a long line of people at the stores searching for the new amiibos when they release. But there never is. Target was like a ghost town. I just lucked out and found most of wave 4 (and Splatoon and silver Mario) in a shopping cart. That’s all they had.

I’ve never even understood why Jigglypuff ever made it into Smash Bros. Let alone twice. There’s SO much better Pokémon they could have chosen.
I never saw any definite proof, but based on some stuff I read there was a number of other candidates for the first Smash that were considered, including Banjo & Kazzoie. As far as I am concerned, Jiggly was just thrown in at the last minuet because of her popularity in Japan at the time just to fill a spot.
Also for the people above arguing about DLC/Amiibos, I agree, amiibos as far as their more far spread use for most games is concerned is very stupid and just unlocks content already in the game, its more like on-disc DLC then regular DLC. The only game that uses them in a unique and not content locking way is Smash Bros and that should have been the how all games utilized them.
The games that support them should have been designed around the idea of having stats that you level up between different games that then transfer to other games, so like if you have Mario amiibo for Smash the levels he gains in there can then be transferred to some kind of special mode in Mario Kart 8 and vice versa. The only other game so far that seems to be doing something similar to this is the new Chibi-Robo game that seems to have some kind of leveling up system.
This is why I only buy them merely for the collector factor and keep them in the package. Its unfortunate I have to support the continued disc-locked content that they enable. The only game where I really would like to actually use them on to unlock the content is with the Fire Emblem guys in Codename S.T.E.A.M. I am actually rather disappointed that they have not announced yet more of the amiibo cards for the ones already released.
