Japan: Wii U Sells 13K, Nintendo 3DS Sells 28K

The charts from Japan are out thanks to Media Create, and the week shows a surge to Sony systems following a substantial price drop in Japan. On Nintendo’s end, both the Wii U and all Nintendo 3DS SKUs suffered minor drop-offs from last week’s sales, yet remained mostly the same.

New Nintendo additions to the list solely includes Picross 3D 2 (at number 7). In the top 20 games, Nintendo 3DS and Wii U hold 7 titles (5 and 2, respectively). For more information, check out the full chart below:

  1. I’m really glad withthe new changes on the comment section, I was sick of “people” writing every week in the media sales post things like “Wii U doomed” , “Nintendofanboys hate when WiiU is not doing well” and the stupid discussions about console wars.. It’s nice to see polite comments more often…just saying

    1. I got a kick out of the trolls (sometimes…some of them were downright disturbing), but their posts really cluttered up the comments section so that well thought out comments got pushed to the bottom and ignored. I feel like real, intelligent discussion is possible now.

Shh! Some poor souls still think the Wii U can be saved or is already saved. You’ll ruin their delusions.

          NINTENDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!!! lol

That joke aside, another week of the 3DS kicking the Wii U’s ass even though the console has the “best” versions of Smash & Hyrule Warriors.

Oh & Yoru no Nai Kuni and Tokyo Xanadu look fucking awesome from the gameplay trailers I’ve watched. You’d think with how successful anime is outside of Japan that anime-esque games would make a killing outside of Japan. I need more Japanese inspired games, damn it! If many games from Japan that I would actually enjoy would release outside of Japan occasionally, I wouldn’t be so against region locking. Nintendo needs to follow the competition, in more ways than one, & get rid of this dark age bullshit of region locking.

Yes! Yoru no Nai Kuni is releasing outside of Japan… next year! Good. I won’t have a PS4 til the end of this year or the beginning of next year, anyway. As for Tokyo Xanadu, if it releases out of Japan, I think I’ll gladly buy Wii U’s cousin, the Vita, for a cheap price just for that game. I guess I could get Final Fantasy X/X-2 for the Vita along with Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, that one God of War game for the Vita, & Final Fantasy Dissidia to make the Vita worth more than just one little game.
