Nintendo 3DS: Analyst Expects 3DS To Revolutionise Whole Games Industry

Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter has stated that he expects the forthcoming Nintendo 3DS to completely revolutionise the video gaming market.

“We view the 3DS as a revolutionary device, and expect its launch to spur hardware and software sales.”

Patcher also believes that Nintendo will re-look at its pricing model for handheld titles and expects them to retail for $29 rather than that typical $25 consumers are paying at the moment.

  1. I definitely have been paying more than $25 for Nintendo games on the DS, so… are we saying that the crappy games will be going for $30 and Nintendo games are going to jump to $40? Because that makes a bit more sense.

    1. Lol, Pachter. How I love your self-proclaimed analyst status. New DS games have never been $25. When will people stop listening to anything that faggot says?

@mario64mario: You’re looking at a Jewivision game, of course it’s overpriced.

    1. Nintendo has said, and even shown, that the 3DS’ 3D effect can be scaled back, or even shut off completely, so I do not see any future games requiring the 3D, even if it’s only for a few moments. One of the reasons being those who cannot view the 3D effect, such as those who are blind in one eye.

  2. Ninty made it pretty clear at E3 that the 3D effect was purely to enhance game pleasure. I think there might be some games that require it in the distant future, but I don’t believe the entire library of games will rely on just that enhancement. Remember, we still have the slider-pad, motion sensor, cameras (they were talking about possible face detection), and other features that will add to this system’s gameplay possibilities.
