Yoshinori Ono has told revered gaming publication Edge that he believes the Nintendo 3DS launch is as exciting as the launch for the Sega Dreamcast.
“First, we are in Nintendo country. Second, the feeling I have with 3DS is the same as when the Dreamcast came out – as a developer, I mean, these machines are so exciting.
“We’re fascinated by it at Capcom, and diving into the innards at the moment, but you know there’s just so much more there to unlock; it’s got more to give.”
– Yoshinori Ono, Capcom
The dreamcast was a pretty epic machine, too bad it didn’t stop Sega from falling out. I’d’ve wanted to see more of it.

Considering Capcom’s input to the dreamcast, this makes me very hopeful. Considering MvC 2, Street fighter 3, Resident Evil Code Veronica, Power Stone, Project Justice, Capcom vs SNK, they really did well with the NAOMI and dreamcast hardware.
Let’s just hope the 3DS doesn’t go the same way as the Dreamcast…
Great to know Capcom is excited about 3DS…maybe now we can get a new Breath of Fire (hopefully on 3DS).
