A tipster has just emailed me with details and images of an exclusive new game for Wii U. The tipster didn’t mention the name of the game, only that the game was initially developed by a Swiss studio, this was closed and the IP was purchased by Nintendo. The game is apparently exclusive to Wii U and is being developed by a studio in Europe.
Update: Looks as though the game is fake. Sorry people! Thanks for the detective work in the comments.

I’m pretty sure those rumors aren’t true. I remember hearing that the controller at the closed Wii U conference at E3 was used wirelessly by Ubisoft presenting stuff.
Well, Nintendo appears to be making it, or an owned studio at least. And the article’s title says that it’s never been seen before. But it IS a Nintendo IP.

Yes, it means they own all the content (images, characters, fictional lands) associated with the game.
I have an example to relates to games I play. Ubisoft purchased “Might and Magic” and “Heroes of Might and Magic”. It means they own all copyrights, and everything related to the series, and can produce new games under the title and can use existing characters, content from the series in new games developed.

The pics look nice, but without a name, a publishing date, or any sort of actual confirmation that it’s slated for the Wii U, how do we know this is for real? Who’s the source? Is he/she a reliable source? How did he/she get the pics? Sorry, but a couple of pics with no information isn’t enough to get me excited. I think you need to spend more time and effort validating these things before you publish them. Otherwise, it doesn’t mean anything.
Chill bro. We should hear more information at TGS next week if it is in fact a Wii U title.

Intel canceled this game in 2010. The company who created this (Offset Software) made another company and parted from Intel.

You’re thinking of the Nintendo 3DS press conference which takes place on the 13th. The Tokyo Game Show takes place on the 15th and is a different thing entirely.

Here is the video at 1:41 you can see what is seen exactly at the last image of this article. The game was developed by a company who got acquired by Intel and few years later Intel cancelled the project. So maybe they sold the IP to Nintendo.

This was codenamed “Project Offset”, a name for a video game in development. It has nothing to do with Offset Software, a video game developer. Same name, different things…

I was focusing on 3DS games so much that I had forgotten we’ve yet to see actual footage of Wii U games aside from the E3 ones. Even if this is fake, it would be interesting to see what games will come to the system, specially the fresh ones. Eternal Darkness has to be one of them.

You know what I like about the Wii? Theres no ” Action Replay” whatever. You actually PLAY the game, then paying an extra 30 bucks for a machine that does it for you. And it has better graphics.
