If you’ve visited the official Super Mario 3D Land site then you may have noticed what looks like a Luigi Tanooki statue. Of course, Nintendo hasn’t confirmed anything, but it’s looking suspiciously likely that we will be seeing a Tanooki Luigi featured in the game.
Took me a reeeeeally long time to find Luigi in there.
So the statue ability of the Tanooki Suit DOES still exist.

It seems to me that The characters on the cover art have tails to match the game title. Purely aesthetics. Or maybe theirs a tanooki world. Either way excited.
No. In the story, a bunch of Tanooki leaves have spread across the Mushroom Kingdom, giving a bunch of things one(confirmed).

Am I the only one that remembers that if u grab the leaf in Super Mario Bros 3 u become RACCOON MARIO, but…if u grab the raccoon suit u become TANOOKI MARIO (u can become a statue) or are they both called Tanooki Mario?
tanooki is japanese for raccoon :p

It doesn’t look like Tanooki Luigi to me. It really just looks like a Tanooki Mario statue with a green scarf on.
If it would be a Mario statue, then why the green scarf? It’d be more clever if they put a red scarf on it, right? And still, I think it is really Luigi from the shape of his moustache (if you look close enough, you see it’s different from Marios)
