Nintendo apparently entering the Indian market in 2027 with original Switch

Nintendo switch (oled model)

The Nintendo Switch is closely closing in on sales to the best-selling video game console, the PlayStation 2 from Sony. One way Nintendo could do this is to launch the original Nintendo Switch in the Indian market which would be a sure-fire hit with those looking for a healthy dose of excellent games and a console at a cheaper price point. The Kyoto-based company is apparently looking to enter the Indian market in 2027, though they have yet to officially confirm this.

  1. Genuis, I really want the original switch to be the best selling console of all time, we are so close!

        1. Sony: Oh man that’s crazy, we honestly thought we only manufactured 160M units, but we didn’t account for these other 10 million that we overproduced because we couldn’t stop the machine 🤦‍♂️ silly gooses

          Nintendo: reaches 170M

Totoki playing with Nishino: what’s this behind your ear!? Another 10 million PS2’s!!!

      1. Randomly it sold 200 million. That makes more sense them pulling that also they have the final PS2 manufactured with the total units made so no it won’t be more.

    1. It’s a poor market I saw a video sone guy went there and asked they told him Nintendo pulled out years ago but if you want it they’ll import it. Piracy is very rampant there.

  2. Dude this is so sick. I love that, even if it sells okay/decently well, this will push it past the PS2 for the #1 best selling spot.

I’m actually suprised it wasn’t available in india… I figured maybe at the very least it was common to import one..?

Bringing Switch 1 to new markets while keeping light support on it is an excellent move. If these new markets really take to it I wonder if we could see it just indefinitely being supported from 3rd partys and the occasional 1st party release. That’d be awesome

    1. No it’s not. India is super poor Disney tried expanding there for streaming it failed bad. Not to mention piracy is rampant. I mean it could boost Switch consoles but not software they’ll sell modded consoles and charge to mod consoles for others I think they do it already. Steam I think is the popular platform in India.

      1. You know companies always pump out older consoles in poorer countries like india and brazil because they are dirt cheap to produce and sell a lot. The Sega Mastersystem is still being sold in brazil and it sells 100,000 units each year. This business practice would make sense.
