The Nintendo 3DS continues to remain the best-selling hardware in Japan despite a drop in sales of around 7,000 units. Since the official price cut the console has continued to dominate the charts fending of the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. It will be interesting to see how the Nintendo 3DS fares against the PlayStation Vita which launches December 17th in Japan.

The Vita doesn’t have a UMD drive, so people want that. The DS dropped in sales because the 3DS supports DS carts. It’s as simple as that.
the 3ds did fairly well..during its launch week..it became the fastest selling hardware of nintendo..but it tripped down after several months due to its week game library….after the price cut it climbed up the top…now after the release of mario and mario kart 7..it will be unstoppable!!!

I’m more surprised at the psp and ps3 sales, almost double over last week. And with the news that you can play any ps3 game on the vita, it just keeps getting better for me :) world is great for someone who likes Nintendo and Sony.

Will considering the most wanted games for 3ds are monster hunter tri 3g mario kart 7 and even 3d land along with other titles with a cheaper price 3ds will outsell the vita.
