Ubisoft Quebec is working on a Triple-A game for Wii U according to Ubisoft job listings. Whilst details on the game itself are fairly scarce the game is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game and Ubisoft Quebec are currently in the process of recruiting staff for the game. Any guesses as to what Ubisoft franchise it could be for?

Just kidding. That would be rather silly. An Assassin’s Creed MMO sounds like a fun idea. And on the Wii U no less. Glad to see its already getting some love.
Who says it is going to be a franchise MMORPG? It might be a totally original game.
Because the report says it’s a AAA franchise.
It still doesn’t mean it’s an old one. They could be referring to the game as a AAA title because of the caliber it has. You see this all the time when EA or Epic games talk about bringing NEW AAA titles to the industry.

I know a lot of people dislike Ubisoft for things they’ve done like DRM, but I like how they support Nintendo. They’re one of a handful of companies that made a game exclusively for MotionPlus. And I do like their franchises like Prince of Persia. Again they made the Wii version of Forgotten Sands instead of making a port of the HD version. Also none of their negative things have impacted me peronally.
Well, with an MMO, they can have more control over the games like used and pirated copies. Plus, MMo’s are becoming more popular on consoles, and with Wii U’s accessible controller, an MMO or RTS game sounds like a good idea.

I don’t quite know how an MMO would play on the Wii U, let alone a console. But hey, this is just another reason for me to get the Wii U and stick with Nintendo.
On the link a suggestion is having keyboard/HUD/Inventory on the controller screen then have the dual stick controller for the fights, etc. I’m not an MMO player but I assume these would be all beneficial.
Finally, I only know of one other MMO game for Nintendo and it was for the Gamecube. I don’t believe it exactly did well because of limitations with the Gamecube.
I hope it’s a nice and original MMO.
Hope its an AC MMO, like you create your own character who is a member of the Assassins guild or something like that.

This is great news for Wii U!!! Since I’ve been wanting to try out MMORPGs I will most likely try this out.
