  1. Anyone else notice that 15 out of the 20 games are on nintendo systems? That’s awesome nintendo. Seems they’re dominating Japan.

      1. Probably to you, even though the 360 lacks exclusives crusualy…. i mean at least the ps3 and Wii can survive on exclusives alone… but the 360 has only a grip of games it could survive with.. and its mostly shooters in one way or another… dont get me wrong, it has a few gems, but it cant complete without multi plats..

    1. They do, and the Wii and 3DS have been selling better than in Japan for a while now. The NPD group also shows the numbers.

    1. While the picture certainly did allow for such a prediction at the time, it also makes the turnaround that’s happened recently even more remarkable.

Also, Jack Devries is my least favorite member of their Nintendo team. Doesn’t surprise me at all he’s the representative on Gamescoop. He’s the only member who would give Charles Onyett’s bs the time of day. And that’s nothing compared to what I heard Nichole Tanner & co. saying on Girlfight when Audrey Drake was out. It’s the reason I stopped listening to Girlfight.

    1. Why get a Ps3 when you could get a PS2? Lol!

I still play my Ps2, and since PS3’s no longer have PS2 support, it’s only natural for it to still be selling.

    2. were you see that at? oh and magi, although the PS3 doesn’t have PS2 support, it is getting ‘PS2 classics’ . just a little side note

  2. I’m not surprised to see Skyward Sword low in the list since that series is not hot in Japan, but I’m shocked that the Wii beat the PS3 and sold that many units!

  3. Not to troll or anything, but Japan’s market is much smaller that the North American game market. Nintendo may have it covered there, but that’s far from being the best in the world.

  5. oh gosh…. Nintendo….. what did you do…….

You really should’ve listened to the analysts, forget console development and develop games for smartphones……

  6. I’m not surprise by Skyward Sword’s drop since the series is not that big in Japan, but I’m shocked that the Wii sold that many units. It even surpassed the PS3.

  7. Wow that is just awesome!! Congrats Nintendo!! See these results game developers? Start making your best stuff for the 3DS and Wii.

  8. Nintendo reclaiming their rightful place on top of the charts. All the doom sayers were ready to jump ship on the 3DS because of the slow start, but all true Nintendo fans knew that come holiday season, Nintendo would dominate.

    1. 1. Becuse you were too dirt-poor to afford it when it was $250?
      2. Because you relized sooner or later the price would drop as no one with half-a-brain was buying it – due to overpricing something that can’t even handle YouTube videos, yet is somehow ‘MOAR powaful dan da Wii1!?’
      3. Because you were waiting for that unemployment check to arrive, only to realise you STILL didn’t have enough money – as a result of paying child support?
      4. Because your mom wasn’t dancing hard enough to make decent cash?
      5. Because you thought to yourself: “Hmmm…: DS, DSlite, DSi, DsiXL, (3)DS, (3)DSlite, (3)DSi, (3)DSiXL… FUCK IT.”
      6. Because the game line-up was crap?
      7. Because you researched how long it would take for decent games to release on the (3)DS, then you spent an era planning as to what area you’d store it in to avoid dust collection?
      8. Because your baby brother/sister has been bugging you to get it?
      9. Because you were afraid to go blind?
      10. Because the colour selection is awful?

      ~I’m at least SEVEN of ^those. :D

  9. Nintendo can always be sure of one thing. Japan will NEVER get bored of what they put out.

Good for Nintendo and hope they keep it up!
