Final Fantasy XV To Be Announced At E3 2012 For Wii U?

Popular UK games publication GamesMaster is claiming that Final Fantasy XV will be announced at this year E3 event for Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Square Enix recently announced that it wants to make the Final Fantasy series an annual series, so it’s definitely a possibility that we will catch a glimpse of the next Final Fantasy at E3.

  1. So rumors of a FF 13-3 next year, FF 15 posibly in 2 years, then the year after that they will release 15-2. More sequels and remakes to fill the gap between creating a compleatly new game

  2. Sigh….now its going to be annual? They decided NOW that they’re going to make it annual? I was under the impression that a game as big, popular, and had this complex of a story would take a while to develop….? Here marks the end of Final Fantasy. (About time.)

  3. great, so release date window of…. maybe, 2022??
lol seriously though, if theyre using their new engine, this might take a long time, specially considering, Vs13 hasnt came out, and they teased about KH3 .. this is great news, but im not getting my hopes up.

  4. what everybodys problem with FF now, I personally loved xii xiii (the only ff games i dont like are the online games), or has ff just become another series that people cant get over there nostalgia with and is now popular to dislike for no reason?

    1. It’s about not using a turnbased system like in ff I to ff X. That what was one of the best things in the game has dissapeared. Dragonquest still has the turnbased system, but that series just isn’t the same to me.

  5. @maman. The reason why people dont like the new FF isnt just because of nostalgia or that’s popular. It has been popular or else FF 2 would have never appeared, nor the rest of the series, duh. It’s because people have opinions of the games and just because you liked it, doesn’t mean everyone has nostalgia goggles on.

    1. I understand that but can you tell me why exactly when A series like ff gets old, matures and get obviously better and of higher quality people say” aw this sucks they should stop making it and not ruin the series” even when its clearly gotten better? Nostalgia. you cant look me in the face and tell me that FFXIII wasnt clearly superior in nearly every aspect than about half of the first 10 ff games. and why when developers takes everything good about a series and makes it better people throw a shit fit?
(Ps never said just because I liked other people had to)

  6. NO! STOP! Square Enix, stop right now! Take a niccce long break from Final Fantasy for a while (minus Versus XIII) and get to making Kingdom Hearts 3. Now.

Sincerely, every gamer who has a soul.

    1. You do realise that the people who make the main Kingdom Hearts games are the ones working on Versus XIII right. And that no other team has ever or has nay intention to ever work on a main Kingdom Hearts title. So eveything else Square Enix does (from any other Final Fantasy Title to Tomb Raider and there hundreds of other games) has no affect on the Kingdom Hearts franchise and cutting out every single one of them won’t make KH3 appear any quicker unless you want a different team to produce it and make an obviously inferior (or at least different) title.
Even the spin offs don’t affect the main series as they are not produced by the same team either and at one time were working at the same time as KH2 was being produced.

  8. I kinda doubt that it will be released on WiiU, I don’t know why.
And uh, I kinda don’t get it. Maybe I got something wrong, but wasn’t it already released in Japan ? And isn’t it going to be released in Europe on 2nd feb. ? So, why should it be at E3 then months later ? Sorry if that’s wrong and I’m only talking bullshit, but I was just wondering. (:

  9. I truly hate anyone who has a problem with them making it an annual series or wish for Final Fantasy to die. No one is forcing you to play these games. Just because I don’t play starcraft or like it doesn’t mean I want it to die.
And the annual thing is completely unnecassary to ge tup in arms about. They have multiple teams working on multiple Final Fantasy games at once which is why this series has been an annual series since it started. There has been a Final Fantasy game published every year since 1989, seriously look it up. A couple years has only had a remake released on a different system but it doesn’t change the fact that a Final Fantasy game has been published every year.

    1. The problem is that the quality and overall fun factor has gone down with the recent final fantasies. Making the games annual will lower the quality down further since they probably wont do much to change the series too much, it may get rushed, and it will seem to get repetitive.

Another problem is that it may take time and effort away from other great games Square is developing, like Kingdom Hearts 3. (I’m still hoping in vain for another Chrono Trigger…)

The series has spawned over 15+ games one after another. If not “die,” don’t you think they should at least take a break?

  10. personally for me, making the the FF series “annually” isn’t a problem AT ALL. look at the PSone days… you have Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and Final Fantasy IX all at the same generation and those FF games turned out awesome. so i dont care, as long as the story is good, then im all fine. also in my opinion, Square Enix should make another Chrono Trigger game or better yet another Xenogear game. What happened Square? were where all your other great RPG’s?

    1. Actually Namco (I think) made 3 xenogear games entitled Xenosaga. They’re some sort of prequel I think. I’m not even sure if square still owns the franchise. Although it would be awesome if they made a Vagrant Story remake or sequel.

  11. my main problem with how they are doing Final Fantasy now is the appeal to western audiences, screw us western audience go back to making it like the good ol days. go back to a world map to travel, towns to visit and their shops to buy from, turn based fighting, experience points leveling, finding summons instead of fighting, summons that actually mean something like they used to. Since FF12 they meant nothing just a means to be cool looking and flashy. like i said get rid of staggering and the damage you do when enemies are staggered, that’s the kind of damage that should be done to enemies (without the stagger chain whatcha-ma-call-it system BS) and when magic meant something, what i mean is if they are a water monster lighting is super effective unlike in FF13 it’s barely a difference maker same with summons, they practically don’t do any more damage than their human owners. i don’t know about you guys who are commenting but to me if you want them to stick with action rpg then i think you are new to the series and therefore what might make the series to stick with action rpg. as war as making the main numbered games annual I say bring it on that’s wht i always wanted. i still like FF13 (except the battle system/stagger crap) but the playstation FF’s were in my opinion the best. i don’t mind action rpg FF as long as they don’t go any further with it than 13 and every other game from now on should go back to FF7 style or the like (example 15, 17, 19, 21) that way it can both type of fans happy

  12. What? How can FF15 be announced when FF13 type 0, FF14(ps3), and FF13 versus haven’t been announced yet. They need to finish their current shit before they go on to the next thing.
