Angry Birds And Angry Birds Space Are Both Coming To Nintendo 3DS

Rovio chief marketing officer Peter Vesterbacka has confirmed to Joystiq that the company wants Angry Birds Space on every platform available, including Nintendo 3DS. Gamers have been waiting for what seems like an eternity for the Angry Bird franchise to make its way to the Nintendo 3DS, but it seems as though the original Angry Birds, and the forthcoming Angry Birds Space, are finally coming.

“With all our games, we’re going for all the screens: Smartphones, tablets, TVs, the web, so we really want to bring Space to all the screens as well,”

“As always, we have limited resources, so we can only do iOS, Android, PC and Mac for the launch, but the other platforms will follow shortly after.”

“We’ll have our games on the 3DS pretty soon. The Vita we haven’t decided what to do about yet, but of course we want to be on all the screens, so let’s see how the Vita does in the market. And of course, always when working with these console guys it’s not that we can decide, it’s really if Sony wants to have Angry Birds on Vita. It’s more up to them than to us.”

      1. I love Angry Birds, never comprehend why others don’t, but oh well. I think it’s nice to kill some time in the trin or something like that, and though it won’t be console quality, I don’t see a problem with it appearing on 3DS. What I DO see a problem with, is that it probably will cost $5,99 or something like that. 3DS needs more small $0,99 games (small eshop games), but of course only if the ”real” games will still be made. I just like to have a choice, and it also is good for 3DS’ sales.

          1. The exact same thing can be said for merchandising of other games as well, especially when it comes to Nintendo main franchise game series. So that’s not much of an argument there. I think the argument you’re looking for is, this is too simple of a game premise, and it will start the trend of having other mobile device (Particularly mobile phone) drown out the e-shop markets. Thus making quality of those games go down, yes?

In either case, I feel the Angry Birds series can be a excellent way to waste time. They have found their niche in many of the handheld markets so it’s not a huge surprise they’ll attempt to take their stake in the console market as well.

        1. yes i got a 3DS for my birthday and i am 8 so i don’t have a visa card if i did i would by angry birds right away.

  1. They’re likely going to be rushed ports with bad performance. See PSP Mini version of Angry Birds as an example. Quickly becomes unplayable after the first few stages. Releasing obviously broken, unpolished products shouldn’t be allowed. Consumers should be respected more.

    1. The only reason it is free on android is because it’s much easier to download an illegal app on android then on an iphone. 3DS would be the hardest to download illegally so there’s a 99% chance it will cost money

      1. Thanks captain obvious.

        Nah, just kiddin’ :P
Yes, your statement is absolutely right. But not just because there’s piracy: also because placing apps on the Android market is cheaper, it only costs ~30 dollars once.

Ahh, whats with all you grumps???

Its a fun little time waster, my girlfriend and I both enjoy Angry birds a lot, nothing says you cant be a *hardcore* gamer and not enjoy such a game. Look forward to giving it a go on my 3DS :D

  3. It’s a fun little time waster. I have it on my phone, it’s pretty cool. I knew the guys from Rovio would want to put this game on the Nintendo platforms, too.

    Leave luck to heaven.

    1. do u still believe that? 5 days ago when i woke up i heard from news tv that the end of the world 2012 is not coming this year.

      1. yes but if you read the bible code than it clearly states soo. Id advice you to read more and ask god for forgivness my brothers. let us on the day of attoinment be found without sin so that our loving merciful heavenly father won’t condemn us in the lake of fire. all signs point to this generation being the last with satanic video games winning, atheism increasing and illegal immigration on the rise, nwo, fags, aids and euro. if you like give me your name and the west b.b. church can pray.

  4. Sorry, I haven’t been waiting for it personally. I downloaded it on my android and it was interesting for a while. I may not be the biggest smartphone gamers out there, but these titles don’t hold me for long, so it’s a no from me.

As for the eShop pricing, people are really ignorant. They sell it cheap on the phones because they either use adds, or they want people to buy it, and people who play on phones are less likely to buy something that is too expensive, so they have it for $1 and stuff. The ones that are “free” are nothing more than game demos we see on consoles; it’s just that the phrase “free games” is misinterpreted by people who don’t know what a demo is. Stuff like Plants vs Zombies are just as expensive on the PSN and even on Steam, so the eShop has nothing to do with it. Pricing is left to individual developers/publishers.

I sure as hell rather pay more for a game that have adds popping up everywhere in my game. That’s the secret of phone games that people don’t seem to understand. There are $2 games on the eShop, but they’re not necessarily the best games, are they?

    1. The only problem I have is when a game that’s $20+ (Ace Attorney, GTA Chinatown Wars, Ghost Trick, etc.) is $10 or less on the App Store. And ALL of them get sales over time; give it a few months, a year, whatever, but they’ll end up at $1 sometime. Which is practically free; I’d pay more to get someone to go get the game for me.

  5. I’ve never liked Angry Birds or understood it’s massive appeal, and have wasted quite a bit of my breath bashing the “game”, but I have to admit the physics in Angry Birds Space looks pretty cool. Kinda makes me wonder what a 2D Mario game with a Galaxy-esque gravity system would be like.

  6. wasn’t it not too long ago that these guys hated nintendo or something?

Guess they came crawling back after they saw the 3DS sales.

  8. Bitch What u Say????

i like to eat sh!t filled diapers and squeeze the blood from a tampon in my mouth to rinse the shit out of my teeth

  9. Wut? .__. Well if they do, it should just be eShop…Since it’s sort of a minigame thing. If they sold it as a card, no one would spend that much to buy some time killer.

  11. If kids love it, the parents buy it. Its not that complicated…. Its popular, so i dont understand why its not where you can get it on the 3ds yet?

  13. One of the joys of using the Nintendo DS game console is that you always have many
options to choose from. More than any other hardware
company, Nintendo is the master of sparking sales by doing something as simple as introducing a new
color to the marketplace. When you nibble at apps like piranhas,
let’s face it, you’re nibbling at Apple first, and subsequently at
Google and the scores of other successful companies that are beginning to
surpass Apple at the app-centric model. But then came back
to find that little hole in the wall we’d missed, allowing us
to further explore the caverns of SR388. Conversely, Princess Toadstool is the slowest at running and picking
up items, but can float through the air for a
    short distance.
