Harvey Smith, one of the co-leaders of the Arkane Studios team, thinks that the Dishonored team could use Wii U to explore ideas which weren’t possible to implement on other consoles. Smith wouldn’t confirm whether the studio were planning any Wii U titles, but it’s encouraging that they’re at least talking about it.
“It’s always felt a little outside my expertise to say. When the Wii came out, it was interesting and I’m glad they did that. A lot of people had fun with the tennis and darts or whatever, but my thinking has always been the more I can forget the interface, the more I can get in the game. That interface reminds me that I’m struggling.”
“We have strong advocates inside the team for PS3, Xbox 360 and the PC. We want to do those right and we know where our audience is. That’s not to say in the future that we won’t explore or experiment with some of these new devices. When a new device comes out, that’s a very fertile ground for exploring new ideas.”

Dishonored for Wii U pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease this game is too awesome D:
Soon, people will be complaining that Wii U has too many great games. :P
Now people complain that the wiiU will fail and its weaker than ps3 and blah blah and another bullshits.Later they will say the same thing that you said @Evan Scott
“We’re out of money, Nintendo! Please slow down!”
They should trust him
Sounds awesome! the more 3rd party support the better!
Why i thing that the U will be the most popular console on many countries?
Well I thing I’m going to buy it at launch
i shall pre order it
Sounds like it could be an interesting idea and I would buy it for the Wii U. They could use the touch screen as a skills screen where you can switch between skills like the skill to cloak yourself for a short period of time or taking control of someones mind, or they can uses the touch screen on the GamePad for the inventory.
Pretty much this.
I mean, it’s one of the first controllers that doesn’t break immersion, but integrates into it by giving you more to do than just swing the controller around.
Not that I’m bashing the Wii, mind. Love the system for its many games. But a controller that can do more than just that is a great idea that I’m glad Nintendo is using to further what games are capable of presenting to us.
i totally agree with you. the wii u just seems a lot more…. convenient, than an average controller. i still honestly think the very best example is arkham city. i mean on the 360 ps3 and pc version you were always constantly having to pause the game and pull up the map, and then constantly stop what you are doing to switch out gadgets, where with the wii u’s touch screen, the map is on the screen, and you can just tap the gadget to use it. and best of all they added on things like the gyro controlled detective mode and remote controller batarang.

This is why im going to love Assassins Creed 3. I mean, how can a game have a loading screen for a map -.- but its also more immeaive, theres no pause button in real life to check a map or mess with inventory. Obviously games like Dead Space and Dark Souls do this, but theyre more there because they know you can get killed if you stop and wait
* immersive
ohlord. i would love me some dead space on the wii u. the controller just seems perfect for a dead space game.
It would. I dont get why Dead Space 3 isnt coming to WiiU seeing as its EA…im guesing the developers have pretty strict development schedule. Making a version for WiiU could hold their release date by about a month or so, depending on how many people are working on it. Good thing i have a ps3 anyway
i’ll probably just get it on pc, and then if they release a wiiu version, i’ll jump on that
Ditto.especially seeing as the co-opis onlineonly, it couldbemore accessable onthe WiiU, people onthe system will bemore interestedin co-op
local co-op on any game would be better on the wiiu, i hate split screen, but i love playing games with my friends on one console.
Dead
Space
3
doesnt
have
local
co-op
:(
i know, im just saying local co-op would be good lol and it would work very well for this game. it would be something they could add to the wii u version
Splinter Cell: Blacklist would also be awesome on wii u.
borderlands would work very well on the wiiu, along with skyrim and dead island
Definitely do this.
Good to see people are looking at it for NEW IDEAS, rather than SPECS.
Dishonoured looks awesome, so im all for it
Next gen will be about gameplay rather than graphics anyway.
I know, i said it in a previous post :p which microsoft, nah, they’ll suck at it because kinect is BALLS, and everyone knows it, while Nintendo and Sony will deliver gameplay changes for casuals and core gamers.
Im curious to see what sony will do cos ps move was a fail.
It was, but it was a bad idea. They need to use gyrospoces in their controllers, you can have, and release a gyro version of the move. I wouldnt be surprised if nintendo make a gyro add on for the pro controller a few years down the line
*wasnt a bad idea
to mii it looks like the move does not have lots of support, i dont think Sony is focusing on that.
Just bring it on!!!!!
Dishonored? FUCK YEAH!
Your team seems like they’re part of the problem; only PS3, Xbox360 and PC? I don’t know, it seems like launch time for a system’s the better time to get your game out and get noticed before the system’s saturated with games made by developers who had the courage to strike while the iron’s hot. (frustration) I figure if you’re fortunate enough to make games for a living, don’t you want as many people as possible to see the good results from your hard work?

Dishonoured was barely even noticed at E3, but it was one of the best games there….having it on the WiiU would get its name out there, seeing as there will be a short list of launch games
At first I thought that the people were British and were talking about developers everyone hates exploring Wii U. Only for a second though as food for thought.
basically innovation sells.

That’s nice to hear. More developers on board or interested means more developers would be willing to make games for the system. Hears to hoping that they like it enough to make games for the system.
