Earlier today Capcom community manager Brett Elston supposedly said that a new Mega Man game is in the works, according to Joystiq. Now Capcom has clarified Elston’s comments, and says that they haven’t confirmed a new Mega Man game. Capcom says it’s having ongoing discussions about the future of the franchise, but has nothing to share at this moment in time.

And here I thought Kid Icarus fans had it tough, but at least Nintendo flat out ignored the series and did not played around with people’s hopes and dreams. I do wonder if a new game is in development since MM 5 and 6 are still coming to 3DS. Maybe he’ll be in the next Smash game.

Just to clarify for people who weren’t on the Duck Tales stream where Brett clarified this, what he was saying was that if Capcom did have a Mega Man game in the works that was ready to show, they’d show it. Unfortunately that was a very poor phrasing, and the game media decided this meant a new Mega Man was in the works. I actually feel sorry for Brett, as he was only trying to treat the wound but this just ended up causing more damage to it.

Stay happy. The Wii U got monster hunter 3 Ultimate with all DLC for free. DEUX EX with visual enhancements, off-tv play, DLC with commentaries and PC mechanics. Everything coming out on the Wii U is DLC enhanced with tones of content worth € 110, that we are paying € 55 for think about it :).

Hehe, why am I not surprised? The only GOOD games these days seem to come from Nintendo. At least, that’s how I feel. Every game I’m interested in is a first-party Nintendo game. Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Pokémon X and Y, and Pikmin 3. And the other games Nintendo has in development. I can honestly say that without Nintendo, I probably would have stopped gaming years ago. In the glory days of the NES, Mega Man was once one of those game series that I loved and bought whenever a new one came out. (at least I WANTED to, but as a kid I only got Mega Man 3 and 4). Capcom was one of my favorite third-party companies. But that was a long time ago.
