The latest figures are in for the UK individual formats chart and this week Luigi’s done it again for the Nintendo 3DS, as he creeps back into the top five just behind Codemasters’ Grid 2. Since last week, Luigi’s Mansion 2 has jumped from sixth to third place in a bid to frighten off those pesky ghosts, but he’s not alone either as Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D slips in behind in fifth place, just hanging behind FIFA 13.
Lego City Undercover: The Chase Begins has been knocked down two places from number seven to sit in at number nine, but Fire Emblem: Awakening has jumped six places to strike in at 25 from 31. So the 3DS continues to reign supremacy over the UK charts, and we reckon Animal Crossing: New Leaf will bring in a top five place next week for sure, but what do you think? I’ve worked out why these new 3DS games have all been doing so well….. The ”So many games” promotion has been advertised all over TV… So people are getting 4 great 3DS games for the price of 3 whilst they can. I did it and I know about 5 others who did the same thing also…
True, I wish there was a promotion like that here too, but with this heavily Xbot infested region, it’s pretty hard…
Hopefully they do something similar with Wii U games in the near future…

WiiU is now in the 3DS’ software launch drought. No one is excited anymore. (yet)
Nintendo showed us the WiiU AGES ago, then it launched with an “OK” lineup. But the whole “Launch Window,” line was a load of shit. Putting off Pikmin probably significantly slowed sales all by itself.
Basically, It’s 3DS all over again (Not near as bad, but still)
They didn’t learn their lesson, so now they will have to spend a bunch of money to fix this cluster fuck.

Forgetting that back in March Nintendo said games for Wii U are taking longer than they expected. Also forgetting Nintendo Direct tomorrow that will be at least an hour long of games that will sell Wii U consoles. And lastly forgetting back in FEBRUARY Nintendo was interviewed and in the long run, they are not worried about the Wii U’s sales.
I personally think High Command should be a little more careful in the future about saying things regarding oyr First Party Games…
Other than that, Europe will be supported more now with the formation of NERD…

Mhhmmm. But when I bought my Wiiu I was expecting Pikmin 3 , Wonderfull 101 , a GOOD version of Aliens and Rayman Legends. That would of been PERFECT , but it didn’t materialize unfortunately…
I’ve had fun with my Wiiu , plenty of it and I love the console. Definitely not had as much fun yet as I was expecting to have , but its all coming. Once Pikmin 3 and Wonderfull 101 are out and we’re waiting for the likes of Mario kart , all will be forgotten ;)
And yeh , the promotion is boosting sales by say , 25%… but they are all great games as you say and would be selling similarly without the promotion…
The reason LM2 has ”crept back up” is because the promotion has nearly ran out, so people are buying the best games that are part of the promotion , hence the rise for MH3U and Fire emblem also ;)

1.) Nintendo releases 1st party games.
2.) Nintendo fans buy the system, increasing install base.
3.) 3rd party dev’s develope for System with increased install base.
4.) Everyone jumps on board.
I know Nintendo is trying to help 3rd party by holding back their games, but I think it will never work that way for Nintendo. They can’t skip step 1.
Agreed. What Nintendo has failed to realize is the difference between a system seller and a game that sells after systems have been sold.
Games like AC4 will only do well once system sellers have came before it and increased the installed base. Which is what EA is scared of…

Neutron was the first to buy Animal Crossing New Leaf. He probably was in New york for the Wii U launch. Once he see 3D Mario he will be pre-ordering that game faster than sony can find a new mascot lol.
