This week’s Media Create sales are once again in, and it’s no change up at the top of the leader board where Disney Magic Castle: My Happy Life sticks like glue to the number one spot. Mario and Luigi: Dream Team sneaks back up a place to second position where they continue to slumber, and newcomer One Piece: Romance Dawn – due to be released for Europe, though sadly skipping North America – enters in at number three.
However, it’s disappointing news for Yakuza 1&2 HD, released for Wii U, as it fails to even hit the top 20 having launched just last week. But it’s not all doom and gloom as we also see an incredible feat for the Nintendo 3DS, as it completely dominates the charts with seven titles inside the top 10. In fact, it’s a good week for Nintendo all-round as Pikmin 3 for the Wii U nudges into 10th place, giving Nintendo eight titles at the top of the charts. You have to forgive me but that ps3 is hard to spot in the sea of 3ds. Is like trying to find a light dark line on a zebra.

Actually it probably would do better in the west… The west usually loves over the top violent action games.
The Japanese play far more cerebal games that use the mind a bit more than just random button mashing, violence just for the sake of it…. so of course games like Pikmin 3 will sell better there.

pikmin 3 was an original. Look at it, next week it will not even be on the top ten. Pikmin 3 didn’t sale any new machines, there is no way a remake will do any better.

Pikmin 3 is 3 places higher in the chart than last week. If I’m not mistaken, the Wii U also sold 3000 more units this week than it averaged before Pikmin 3.
If Yakuza were brought stateside…I’d buy it.

It’s a great series, but unfortunately, I don’t think they’ll bring the Wii U version if they’re not even bringing the PS3 version which actually sold decently (or Yakuza 5).

Wii U and Pikmin 3 seating pretty :). Lego City undercover WiiU is number 11. WiiU averaging out at Almost 10 000 in it’s 5th week with Pikmin 3 is simply marvelous. The 3DS though is a BEAST!

Wonderful 101 is set to be amazing in Japan. The Japanese seem to like the Zanny all over the place above the top miscellaneous a lot of this at once type games. The response wonderful 101 has gotten even on the convoluted neogaf is just great. WiiU got the Pikmin catalyst and now it’s breathing. Yes it surpassed your predictions in a grand and joyous manner to you. Notice how JellyBean and Aldarazz exist no more on this site, especially after the WiiU sold after that xboxone debacle announcement in may, the 21st to be precise?Waiting on seeing the Shin’ en tribes WiiU generation 2 engine’s games.

I don’t really mind that Romance Dawn isn’t in NA, the true One Piece game I’m waiting for is Unlimited World Red.
I really want that one too but if Romance Dawn doesn’t get localized in NA I’m pretty sure Unlimited World Red wont get localized here either..but I hope I’m wrong.
I do not see how a redo of a several year old game not selling well on a new system with a still comparatively small install base is disappointing. How about you release the game in places where it hasn’t been released before or better yet, release a new game. Then we’ll talk.

how can you saw way to go. When it was top 3 and now barely hits number 10 and in 2 weeks it will not be in the top ten. The number of consoles jumped the 1st week but the last 2 weeks the numbers are back to normal. Pikmin sold 10,000 consoles and that is all.

I hate to have to correct you but it was selling at 5,ooo per week in Japan before Pikmin 3. Nice try by trying to talk down the increased sales even though it is declining. If talking down on Nintendo makes you happy then by all means please do. Just know you are not changing anyone’s mind nor are you stopping anyone’s enjoyment. I think everyone who bought an original, are upgrading to XL’s (or whatever they call it) as they can. So essentially 2x 3DS per fan? (just guessing) That’s what I did.
Virtually everyone in Japan has 1 hour plus commutes on public transit. Even CEO’s of major companies. Plenty of them of playing games, reading manga etc while commuting….or sleeping. That’s a lot of customers because of a lifestyle which doesn’t exist anywhere else.
Japan’s 360 sales numbers are always interesting.

It is rumored that Sega comesback in 2014/2015 on console market. They apparently are working on closed doors with Imagination technologies on Dreamcast successor, thats why you dont see them puttin that much effort on Wiiu,Ps4 and One. Sonic exclusive deal is kinda like Segas last kiss goodbye for Nintendo before they comeback in Ring. Of course this is just an rumor, but if they do they have more exclusives and ips than Nintendo,Sony and Ms thanks to their investments during 3rd party era which is soon over. Segas comeback will be a big news and brings lots of fresh air on console market which is what it needs to keep people interested. Variety is needed, they arent competin against anybody they are bringin system for their own audience which has been askin it for years and they try to like Nintendo to get new people into gamin as well, more edgy and Sega style of course.

As cool as the 3DS is, I’m surprised at how well it’s doing. Because in my opinion, handhelds SUCK compared to major console gaming. Hard to believe how many people are obsessed with handhelds. I never even touch my 3DS’ unless I just wanna fool around and crate some Mii’s.
Pikmin 3 should have stayed at the #1 spot for at least 6 or 7 months. Something is very, very wrong. What’s happening to my beloved Nintendo?

Splinter cell, retail version of Super Luigi U, and the Japan/Europe/Australia versions of W101 should keep sells rolling into September. then Rayman and American version of W101 will do the same in September.
