Yakuza Restoration Announced By Sega

yakuza_restoration

Sega has revealed that the newest Yakuza game will be called Yakuza Restoration, or Yakuza Ishin, and will feature a character named Ryoma Sakamoto. Details are scant about the game. Although Yakuza 1 & 2 HD were recently released on the Wii U, it is unknown whether or not this new spinoff of the game will come to any Nintendo consoles. Stay tuned to MNN for details.

    1. True.
But it’s kinda retarded from Sega’s side to judge the console based on those sales.
Almost everyone who wanted those 2 games already played them. They are rather old games. That combined with the number of sold consoles just screams that it would have low sales.

  1. If it’s not coming to Wii U, obviously the Segans will abandon us aswell blaming our Inglets for not buying their pointless “remakes”…

    1. You don’t know how business works if you had a video game company and you were the boss would you put your games on a failing console that doesn’t sale or consoles that already sold well.

      1. Finally, someone enough sensible to realize that. It must be really hard for fanboys to think straight when their fanboyism goes over their heads. The Yakuza 1 and 2 remakes sold 2000 copies during the first week! Isn’t it obvious that if the install base in their home country don’t buy their games there, why would they risk selling it abroad? It’s not the company’s fault, it’s the consumers.

I can bet you that most Nintendo fans don’t even have a single third-party game on their Wii U console. Why? Because they are simply not interested in products form any other companies other than Nintendo, which is why big third-party developers aren’t interested in Nintendo’s console.

And if that’s not proof enough, look at what Nintendo Commander wrote; “..their pointless remakes..”. An example of a Nintendo fan who looks at all third-party games as “pointless”, even though in this case they have never been on a Nintendo console before. “Sure, I’ll buy digital games from the 80s by Nintendo, but I won’t buy a pretty new game that is made by a third-party developer”.

        Logic.. it simply isn’t there..

        1. Why would we buy pointless “remakes” and gimped versions?…

We are not as stupid as blind ones buying anything and everything…

I do not buy games simply to “support” a company that doesn’t even support our Empire to begin with…

        2. This is well thought stupity. A port of a port of a HD remake sales bad a year later. I’m sry to tell you this but the only games that can have the luxury of being released late are versions of old console games in cheap digital form.

        3. I don’t own any 3rd party simply due to the fact that I have them for my 360. I don’t need 2 of the same game. Granted, I’ll be buying ACIV and Watch Dogs, but we need new 3rd party games, not old rehashes as was the case with many of the launch titles. Heck, indie devs are giving Wii U more support than those stupid ‘Giants.’ How does one buy 3rd party games if there are hardly any studios supporting it, besides Ubisoft? Its awful, Nintendo is too used to making their own amazing games to keep their systems afloat, and the fans and consumers have grown accustomed to that. It will take a while for Wii U owners to get used to the fact that 3rd parties are finally available for us to buy their games.

        4. Whatever your views, they will not save your precious xboxdone. They only system in real trouble. Notice how Microsoft is desperately trying to reparkage that nonsense? WiiU has already started it’s climb. Also to inform you SEGA has sonic their main mascot on the WiiU. Thus it shall sell well and in the future sega shall decide from there. As for Yakuza 1 and 2, who wanted ps2, gamecube era games in HD when yakuza 3 HD is out on PS3? You have superior logic for reasoning lol in Microsoft bot land.

      2. Just take a look at the 3DS…

Wait until 2014 is over then we can talk whether the Wii U is dead or not…

    2. Son of Nintendo and Sega

Fuck you. You arent worthy to call yourself as Nintendo Commander when you dont recognize their closest ally since Gc day. Heck, they always have made exclusives of their most famous series on Nintendo platforms. Fuck you! Its like you dont want other devs to support Nintendo which is fuckin sad. Get a life and job, stop this fuckin roleplayin on internet you fuckin bum.

      1. I was talking about developers in general not Sega, excuse me if I wasn’t clear enough…

And I know Sega is very supportive but as far as that “remake” goes, I won’t buy it at all…

And maybe you should grow up and talk properly instead of insulting like an 8 year old before giving me any “advice”…

  2. Why is SEGA wasting their time? The remakes sold poorly, they should just cancel this and stick with Sonic, because clearly that is the only franchise that will keep them afloat. Too bad too, because I would love a new Crazy Taxi game or a Jet Set Radio game.. :/

    1. The Yakuza series sells well on PlayStation. What are you talking about? Plus SEGA has other franchises and games that are currently doing well (Phantasy Star Online 2 for example).

        1. PSO2 is doing great on the Vita. In just a few days after its release, SEGA logged over 350,000 users on the Vita alone. They updated those numbers recently with a large increase, I just can’t remember the exact number (not home/no pc access, otherwise I would post links). It isn’t doing as good as the PC side, but it is still quite well.

  3. This won’t even come to the west, let alone be released on Wii U. So I don’t know how this even qualifies as “Nintendo” news. Unless “hope” has become news…

I’m excited for Yakuza 5 though! The Yakuza games faintly remind me of the Shenmue games I do so love.

  4. For one, I don’t think its a waste of time or money. Just be happy that Sega is fully supporting the Wii U and not them other poor excuse companies like WB making a sad excuse on why giving us half assed ports of their games…like BATMAN. :D

“Why would we buy pointless “remakes” and gimped versions?…

We are not as stupid as blind ones buying anything and everything…

I do not buy games simply to “support” a company that doesn’t even support our Empire to begin with…”

Commander, thats pretty dam sad that you above all would say that. Specially when you, yourself, welcomed the support. True on blind and stuff but you surprised me on that last comment. Good day sir! >:(

    1. Sorry, I was talking about the other lesser beings/developers in general, not Sega…

So I apologize for any inconvenience as I don’t hate or even don’t like Sega at all…
