Labor Day sales are under way in North America, and failing Blockbuster Video is trying to regain some losses with a huge video game sale. Starting tomorrow August 27th, until the 2nd of September, Blockbuster will be running a Buy One Get One Free sale on all of their used game inventory 29.99 and under, which includes a number of Wii U titles such as New Super Mario Bros. U and Assassin’s Creed. Although the sale will be in-store only, gamers win out as Blockbuster continues to try any and all means possible to drive traffic to its fast-deteriorating business. Although the sale mostly consists of PS3 and Xbox360 titles, a number of Wii games are also available in addition to the Wii U titles.

Doink
Sweet.
Lol, i forgot all about blockbuster :P
5 years late
Blockbuster is almost extinct now.
Yeah the one in my town has been closed for a couple years now, sadly.
Same here. We got to go there before it closed down and get all the stuff there cheap.
i might go to see what they have
Blockbusters is gone in Canada so yea
So… anywhere else to rent games physically in NA? Specifically the East Coast?
GameFly, your local library, friends, etc.
RedBox tends to have a lot of games. Unfortunately the Wii U titles are usually scant though.
I really hate redbox… I miss walking into a dedicated rental store and looking through the selection. Especially finding an old movie I had forgotten all about and re-watching it. In a way digital has ruined a lot of good things…
Digital has only made things better! :D I love how convenient it is to buy games and movies these days! :D
There’s a fine line between convenience and laziness however. Until digital prices drop, I still like looking at my gaming and movie library sitting on a shelf.
Game prices drop, the only ones who really havent are Nintendo (I have no idea why) PSN is considerably cheaper where I am, Steam …. No more has to be said :D
Movies? I only buy them if I like them. I just download the rest.
Redbox is SOOO much better than those old
movie stores. Movie Stores were the biggest rip off! Redbox is cheap, fast, can be found everywhere and you can return movies to any redbox box. The only downside is you can’t get older movies, but you can find those on netflix and at your local Library AND online…. Old Movie Stores are simply awful. 💋
No offense MammaJynx. This man understands that there are certain services that cannot be replaced by a modern computer screen. The Memories of Daddy Champ taking me to the movie store where all the available selections raised high above my head; Cannot be experienced by my future children. Rest in Peace Blockbuster.
Family Video, but their rates are rediculously high.
No sales here. Boo.
There isn’t even one in my area I believe. Ha!
Meh! I think is easier to find xenoblade for 5$ than a blockbuster.
The ruins of an ancient civilization: Blockbuster.
too bad blockbuster is all but dead
Don’t even bother. Blockbuster, GAME, HMV, and GameStop are on their last legs. It’s time to go digital-only.
Gamestop provides both physical and digital copies…lol they arent going anywhere.
These retailers have been swimming in a sea of red ink for a few years now. It seems that digital distribution is becoming standard.
Maybe next generation aka PS5 maybe. Not now.
HMV almost died months ago. GAME barely survived bankrupcy. Hollywood Video closed back in 2010. KB Toys died in 2009. Circuit City closed last year. And GameStop has been closing stores. What does this tell you?
That your full of shit. No just kidding. I didn’t say physical releases are doing just as good as before but they’ll definitely stay for anther generation. Remember people still buy games online. Many people wanna collect games, not just play them. A digital copy is useless.
you’re*
Those people are falling behind. Already I am buying digital copies of my games, movies, music and books. I am even planning to convert my DVD and Blu-Ray movies to digital. It is time for everyone else to do the same.
Yeah good luck with those 50GB 4K movies that going to replace our standard 2-5GB movies. I know, that HDD’s are becoming bigger, but download all these movies are going to be a bitch! and if your HDD ever crashes, good luck downloading all these movies again lol
Yo, GameStop isn’t going anywhere. Honestly, they have been doing great for the past few years. The others are going under, but I haven’t heard about GameStop losing ground haha.
No, it’s not.
blockbuster still exists? omg
Where is there a Blockbuster store? lol
What’s a Blockbuster?
Awesome! Now all I need to do is find a Blockbuster!
wow…too bad mine closed up last year.
Blockbuster no longer exists in Canada. Hasn’t for like 3 years now. Ever since Canada took all the debt from the States ones to help it survive in the states…tsk…
I miss Blockbuster.
Hahaha Blockbuster doesnt even exist anymore in my city!!! ever since the arrival of REDBOX.
The Blockbuster in my city closed about 3 years ago.
Why even post this shit? How many blockbusters are even still open? You should have posted the deal best buy has which is buy 2 wii wiiu ds or 3ds games and get 2 free.
Reblogged this on Thinking Gamers.
Where the hell is there even a Blockbuster to go to?
Blockbuster still has physical locations?
Cockbuster closed down in my town (St Joseph, MI)
There’s always Family Video to rent games & movies at.
Yeah, in my little town in MI they replaced em with Family video… but they do free disk cleaning in my town, so its not all THAT bad.
It seems all the Blockbusters I know of are indeed, dead. No deal for me then. :[
What? Blockbuster still exists? I thought they went out of business?
There are no more Blackbuster store anymore around where I live.
Damn…a typo. I mean “Blockbuster”. ;P
Brb, looking for my local Blockbuster… used to have like 3…
Oh boy, can’t wait!
