Just last week Shantae: Half-Genie Hero attained its $400,000 funding goal, and now it’s already reached its first stretch goal on Kickstarter. Developer WayForward – who, together with Capcom, recently released DuckTales Remastered for Wii U – has now raised over $500,000 and unlocked Risky Mode for fans. The all new Risky Mode will grant you the ability to play as Risky Boots, Shantae’s famed arch-nemesis, in her own campaign which will span the length of the game.
With only four days remaining, WayForward is looking for fans to fund their next stretch goal at $600,000, which will contain a bonus chapter to appear in the middle of the title. Here’s what WayForward had to say in their recent update below. Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will be released on a number of consoles including Wii U, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
“Happy Sunday folks! Thanks to all of your pledges, we’re happy to announce that Shantae: Half-Genie Hero will now have 2 full campaigns to play; the main storyline featuring the heroic adventures of Shantae, and the alternate storyline featuring the villainous antics of Risky Boots! A very heart-felt thank you to everyone!!”
