  1. Seeing GTA5 not in the list I’m actually a bit suprised when the last of us make into the list. I’m glad with 2 Zelda games in the list though.

  2. There are some things I opinionatedly disagree with this list. Chrono Trigger should have been in top 10. Final Fantasy 4,6,9.12 are all better than 7 anyway. Maybe FF7 has the most fanbases since it introduced many people into jrpgs in the PS1/N64/Saturn era. I can’t blame them.
    Not a bad list, though.

    • i agree.. kick dark souls out (it had no right to be in that list x_x) and put shenmue in its place
sadly shenmue had a very small install base and thus very likely not many people voted for it
i’m surprised crono trigger made it in there considering it was never released in europe (and terranigma didn’t GRRR)

  3. This does make me remember that Galaxy 1 was taking a more cinematic approach and I don’t think Miyamoto didn’t like that

oh well this list is nice

  4. not a bad list at all. although I’m sick of oot getting #1 every time. it was great back then, but today compared to other amazing games, it’s alright.

    • yeah this list is supposed to be a lifetime award.. if you’d just vote for games regarding their advancements in visuals or gameplay it wouldn’t very well be a lifetime award would it?

  5. A very good list. Note what their best game of the last generation (i.e. Wii/Ps3/360) was. Years from now, I think the games that will be most remembered from this generation are the SMG games. There’s no bells or whistles to them, they are excellently designed games that will stand the test of time.

  6. dark souls? really? i can even agree with WoW in this list.. while i didn’t enjoy it one bit i can see its merits and the huge effort that went into designing the game world and gameplay mechanics and how all that affected the game world

but dark souls one of the best games of our life(!)time? just because it’s hard or why? never!

  7. Alright guys, here’s my top 20! So that one franchise (DBZ) doesn’t dominate, I’ll only have 1 game per series on the list

    1. Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3
    2. Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations
    3. Project Versus Jump! (Not out yet, but I can tell these things…)
    4. Super Smash Bros!
    5. Bakugan Defendors of the Core
    6. Sonic Adventure 2 Battle
    7. Tatsunoko vs Capcom
    8. Star Fox Assault
    9. Custom Robo
    10. Legend of Zelda Wind Waker
    11. Bleach Soul Resurrection
    12. Final Fantasy XIII-2
    13. Pokémon Ruby
    14. Yugioh Tag Force 5
    15. Godzilla Destroy All Monsters
    16. Mario 64
    17. Madden 2004
    18. Ratchet and Clank Deadlocked
    19. Kingdom Hearts II
    20. Jak II

Of course, with all of the games out there, I probably forgot a few that should have been there. Nontheless, off the top of my head, these are the 20 best games!

  8. Goldeneye is on here (which I still love) but not Super Metroid?? It should be in the top ten, if not top five. There are many games on here that do not deserve to be rated higher than SM. If Chrono Trigger is not too old to be on this list, then there is no excuse.

Vice City and Red Dead Redemption are not nearly as timeless, and The Last of Us is too new to be on such lists. Wait for the hype wnd novelty to wear off first before you can know how good it Really is in the big picture.

  9. I could agree with almost everything in that list in a different order. But The Last of Us is the most overrated game of all time and shouldn’t be even near the top 20.
