The problem arose when Nintendo released its 2013-2014 software line up in a Youtube video, but neglected to show the long-awaited Bayonetta 2. While I’m not defending his word choice, there’s a difference. I don’t think Eiji Aonuma is on Twitter and asking for a Majora’s Remake is asking for him to remake a game that they love so much. They’re showing demand for a game. Kamiya is repeatedly getting people asking for him to port the game over because they don’t like the Wii U or don’t want to buy one. Sega own the IP yes but the game its funded by Nintendo and Kamiya said it best in February “We’re a development company… Nintendo gives us money, we make Bayonetta 2 and Wonderful 101, and they sell it,” so even owning the IP Sega has nothing to do with the game the only way for Sega to make the game multiplat is a) pay Nintendo alot of cash witch they most likely won’t since they didn’t even want to publish the game in the first place or b) make a complety different game built from the ground up

Still, SEGA owns the IP and if they funded a multiplatform development/port after their limited contractual agreement with Nintendo is up, they could very well do so.

Nintendo sits on properties though. Shadow of the Eternals was called Shadow of the Eternals and not Eternal Darkness (and had no Sanity Meter) because Nintendo published that game and kept all the rights. Bayonetta 2 is going nowhere.
