Fast Racing Neo For Wii U From Shin’en Will Feature “Hyper Real Graphics”

fast_racing_neo

Nintendo centric developer Shin’en has revealed via Twitter that the company expects to deliver hyper realistic visuals when it releases Fast Racing Neo for the Wii U. The company says that the upcoming Fast Racing Neo uses around 4 – 8K textures to give it a more realistic and gritty look. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to get a proper glimpse of the game.

Since FRN we use 4-8k textures. Means hyper real graphics but 16x storage. Happy this is no prob on WiiU eShop :)

Thanks, Mike S and Retrogaminglord

    1. Hahahahahaha another dumbfuck sony pony with a boner for Anime. Hahaha keep restricting yourself buddy, it’s your loss. Now go play knack. Shoo shoo

        1. You were actually right. Wii U is weak (low TDP = low end CPU and GPU), just slightly stronger than PS3/360 consoles (7-8 years old hardware).

So…. yes, Wii U is weak.

            1. disregard my last comment x_x

              and no they’re not

they’re using HD 7000 tech just not the most powerful one.. that doesn’t make em older though

                  1. yeah no… firstly the e6760 is very slow and secondly the wii u GPU is heavily modified so comparing it directly to an existing GPU and saying “it’s THAT GPU” simply doesn’t work

                1. well it’s not really known just *what* the wii u is using as the chip is very heavily modified (you won’t find anything similar in any desktop PC thus you cannot directly compare it to any existing desktop GPU) but it’s safe to say that being manufactured in 40nm and being GPGPU capable the tech used for the wii U GPU should be about 4 years old (i.e. about as old as the RV 770)

          1. It comes down to how you use it. If you simply copy and paste a port without optimizing a game on the Wii U’s architecture then you complain its cause its weak then your a lazy fucker who exposed yourself. But as a Dev who has worked on the Wii U Dev Kit, its a shit ton more powerful then the mass thinks it is. Course the PS4 is the stongest. But Wii U is most certainly not weak.

        1. Same here. Except, even if I had the money I probably would hold off for awhile. Like for when the new Uncharted comes out. Hyped for that game.

  1. Can’t wait to see this game, I have a feeling once we see this game we will have a clear idea of the Wiiu running at near full potential with realistic style graphics!!!

    Excite bike!

      1. Did your parents disown you when you told them you were gay?
Did mother drop you when you were born?
        Are you just generally retarded?

I want to know all of your problems. Pinwheel can help.

  2. hopefully it also uses parallax mapping or a similarly advanced technique for that hyper realistic gritty look

textures alone don’t make realistic surfaces :P

  3. jajaja, we know it’s Shin’en, they like Nintendo and they know how to use hardware so it’s a given that the game will look very good but the more important question is, HOW WILL THE GAME PLAY AND WILL IT BE GOOD?

    ***************

sigh, Whenever some dev talks about good graphics and Wii U in the same sentence all the Nintendo fanboys immediately switch to the *graphics whore mode* even though two or three posts prior they’re defending hardware weaknesses.

come on, choose a side TO STAY THE ENTIRE TIME

    either,

You’re the apologetic, stuck in the past, Nintendo fanboy

    or

You’re the graphics whore drone that bashes 7th gen system’s capabilities with a nameless RPG and some racing sim’s wii u build changelogs.

    1. loser. when Nintendo fans talk about graphics it’s usually in relation to some fanboy of the other consoles talking smack due to poorly ported multi plats not measuring up. all we do is defend Nintendo by pointing out the glaringly obvious amazing looking games the console is capable of when devs just do their job and make the best game possible. when this happens, as Rayman Legends, Nintendo 1st party, and Platinum, Retro, Shin’en have shown, the Wii U is quite capable of truly beautiful games.

So, no we don’t give a fuck about how COD or Batman Origins look because we know the devs put squat into making it look good. But people like you can only point to weak ports to try and put the Wii U down. Nice try though clown

      1. Point proven, I didn’t know thaf I was down playing Nintendo, did you read the entire comment or just the word “fanboy” ?

I guess not but I shouldn’t expect any different from a 12 year old basement droller.

    2. No, I think Nintendo games a great regardless of their graphics, but adding graphics makes them even better. Plus, graphics are bragging rights. Nintendo fans only “care” about them to combat against Nintendo haters. It’s not that we are graphics whores, we just need to defend ourselves.

Also, I don’t think I can speak for all Nintendo fans. I am sure there are those who love graphics (like me) and take them into consideration before buying a game.

There are also those who give no shits for graphics. They know who they are. A game is as fun as it’s creativity and game-play and not by how many polygons it can render.

All in all, graphics might not be everything, but they are important enough to make a mental note of them before buying a game. Perhaps a game has bad graphics, but the game-play is fantastic, glorious even. Then it might be worth picking up. However, if a game has AMAZING graphics, but shitty game-play then it isn’t even worth picking up. Graphics don’t mean everything when it comes to judging, rating and buying video games, but game-play surely does.<– That is where most Nintendo fans lie. To say all Nintendo fans "don't" care about graphics at all is a misconception. And to say that wanting and loving good graphics makes you a "graphics whore" is also a misconception. You can have a little bit of both.

      1. I was not talking about fans, I wrote about FANBOYS. There’s also no reason to go against haters because they’ll disagree and continue the hate anyways or have you seen any of the day one *Wii U is less powerful than PS3* guys admitting that they’ve been wrong about that ?

    1. WHAT 3 CORES THE ONES THAT EACH ON THERE OWN RAPE THE SHIT OUT OF A X86 JAGUAR CORES IDIOT

1 GIG OF RAM EXCUSE ME THERES A MASSIVE SUPER FAST MEMORY SUB SYSTEM ON CHIP OF 38MB

      MORON

      1. Will excuse me if I’m no nothing about hardware specs. I play games specs didn’t come up till people kept comparing Wii U to PS3 ánd PS4.

    2. you have absolutely no notion of what he meant by “4 to 8K” do you?

in the end the quality of these textures depend on the area you use them on.. if you use one 4K texture to texturize a huge asset it will probably still look like it came out of someone’s ass

      relative size is what matters

  4. Great! I love racing games. I’ll probably get this too in light of Shin’en’s coming out as true video game developers. They are just so talented.

  5. So this just means that the reason why Ghost looks better on PS4 is because Activisipn favors it over Xbox and Wii U.

    1. I see what’s happening. Since 3rd party developers aren’t going to mqx out Wii U’s capavilities, Nintendo will just do it.

  6. I DONT KNOW WHY NINTY IS ALLOWING THEM TO.PUBLISH ON ESHOP. THEY ARE VERY TALENTED DEVS PLUS THEY SEEM TO CARE ABOUT GRAPHICS. THEY SHOULD BE MAKING HIGH QUALITY RETAIL GAMES

  7. It’s so dumb that not more devolpers but that much effort in their Wii u games. It’s hard to understand why there are so many weird devolpers out there ………………….,

  8. Everyone Graphics DO matter, but not in the way people think they do or don’t. Graphics all depend on genre of game and art-style, and the era they were created.

Graphics help someone buy into the world in which they are playing, it helps the gameplay improve when you buy into the world created for you. It doesn’t matter too much if a game is 720p or 1080p native or 30 or 60 frames, these elements only help fractionally. People who play FPS games swear 60fps improves their game, but only because it comes as a handy excuse if they loose a match on a console only running at 30fps.

I’d give Alex Kidd in Miracle World the same graphical score that I’d give Resident Evil remake, Super Mario Galaxy 2 or Super Mario 3D World or Bioshock Infinite. It’s just a matter of perspective.

BUT people should stop bitching if a game has next gen lighting or textures or not, It may be because I was born in the world of pixels rather than polygons and I feel every 3D game is a god damn miracle. Maybe when 2, 4 and 8k televisions become affordable and 1080p looks like a pixelated mess then maybe it will be time to complain about the Wii U’s (and let’s face it the PS4 and XBO as they are 1080p only game wise) graphical capabilities, but until then the Wii U can produce some very solid visuals that hold up against both current and next gen games, and 1st party titles look fookin’ amazing!

The only Wii U game that I felt was a visual mess was Zombi U, as it seemed to have a cross between a 360 launch game in some respects (like textures, especially on character models), and a PS4 third party launch title in a few other small respects which really bugged me when getting 100% immersed in the game. –

Still I think most people should admit graphics DO matter, but not in the sense the majority of people think. Of course gameplay and in some genres story come above graphics.

  9. Shinen needs to show this game off soon, before the holiday shopping season. If it looks as good as I think it will, it could help push a lot of people towards buying a WiiU/asking for a WiiU instead of one of the other two new systems. With a tease like this, they really need to show the game now!!
