Footage of a multiplayer race in the highly anticipated Mario Kart 8 has surfaced online. The footage was taken by gamers at this year’s Madrid Games Week. Interestingly, those that were playing were using the gyroscopic controls, rather than the traditional ones. Which control scheme will use for Mario Kart once it’s released next year.

Game looks amazing and plays just like the 3ds counterpart. (thats a good thing) smooth 60fps
Nintendo really needs to let people play with a joystick. They always try to show off the motion controls and instead the game looks like crap with everybody crashing.
If I would have been there I would kick as with the wii remote. I hope one can configure the the game pad motion sensitivity
They can use a joystick, Mario Kart Wii can be played only with the wii remote, or with nunchuck, or with a game cube controller, or a classic controller. And I suppose that Mario Kart 8 will offer options too: Game Pad with gyroscopic controls, with the sticks (they have confirmed this already), wii remote, with nunchuck and with the wii u pro controller

Of course there will be! They’re not just going to spoil the whole roster before launc. There will be the amount or more unlockables as MK7.

If anyone is wondering about controls, when I played MK8 at MCM London expo, they had the option of Wiimote gyro for one player and Gamepad controls for the other. And you could turn on or off the Gamepad gyro (If I’m not mistaken, was a while ago but I’m pretty sure that was the case) So basically you can likely play how you want, either traditional Gamepad/Wii U pro controls or Gyro Wiimote/Gamepad controls, etc.
