Atlus Reveals A Little More About Persona Q For Nintendo 3DS

As you already know, Atlus revealed that Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS. However, the company didn’t reveal a lot about the game other than providing a trailer which had anime clips mixed in with a few gameplay scenes. Thankfully, Atlus have provided some insight into the game in a recent interview with Silconera. Here’s some extracts from it.

“Just like the experiment of making a fighting game based off the Persona series in Persona 4 Arena, which was also well received by fans, the plan of making Persona Q came from wanting a game that could bring further joy from an even more ‘unexpected element'”

“However, it’s not quite as simple as putting Persona characters into an Etrian Odyssey game: “While we are implementing Etrian Odyssey’s system into it, just as the name implies, Persona Q will be a completely new title, but first and foremost, it’ll be for the fans of the Persona series.”

“Persona Q is just entering its testing phase, and we’re currently polishing its contents.”

    1. Well, believe it or not, but colorful rhythm games are quite popular, especially in Japan. So you can expect that game you’re making fun of right now, to sell like hotcakes and boost the Vita’s sales. And considering the Persona series has some damn good music, getting good sales is just what the game deserves.

      1. Personally i think that Persona Q will sell better internationally. no idea why people like stuff like hatsune miku enough to go to concerts of her playing songs on a recording.

either way, i’ll get it if it comes

  1. I LOVE MR YAMAUCHI HE REALLY KNOWS HOW I FEEL ABOUT THESE BORING RPG GAMES

[People who play RPGs are] “depressed
gamers who like to sit alone in their dark
    rooms and play slow games.”
    – Hiroshi Yamauchi in a 1999 interview

    1. Here’s a fun fact, note that he said this after Square jumped ship to Sony, which in turn boosted the PS1 sales and caused the N64 to have next to no role playing games, making the console unappealing to RPG gamers (that comment probably didn’t help things either).
Not to speak ill of the dead, but despite being a great man with great accomplishments, Hiroshia Yamauchi did make a few questionable statements, showing he might have been quite the sore loser.

  2. Oh, if it’s going to be similar to Etrian Odyssey, it won’t be much like Persona 4, which means: no actual walking around in different places in town and stuff but more like only navigating through dungeons and battling ? Kinda sad if that’s really going to be the case, actually. I would have preferred a more Persona 4-ish gameplay. But it seemed kinda odd to me anyway that the only gameplay we saw in the trailer was battle footage. Seems like there just wasn’t much more to show other than that. It’s only a spin-off, but I still hope they’ll actually make something out of it.
