This week’s Japanese software and hardware charts are now in courtesy of Media Create. Hardware sales have slipped now the holiday boom is over. The Nintendo 3DS sold 60.154 and the Wii U only sold 14.020. Interestingly, this is the second week that the PlayStation Vita has outsold Wii U, presumably the announcement of PlayStation Now has had some effect. Here’s the software and hardware charts.

In my opinion, Smash Bros will hardy boost sales of wii-u, but I think the game will sold well, overtime, like the Gamecube version. I believe MK8 might greater the boost. Because the fact, that, Mario Kart Wii is the second best selling in the Wii.

It’s sad to see the Wii U’s momentum slip this much. And even worse that there aren’t any notable releases on the Wii U until late February with Tropical Freeze.
And the funny thing is, Tropical Freeze was done months ago– it was delayed just so this spring wouldn’t look like another Wii U software drought.
You know what, I really believe that. They should have released Tropical Freeze this month, at least. Wii Fit U in January alone is not good enough. I hope they at least used these extra few months to refine and add more content to TF, to ensure that it exceeds expectations. Hopefully sales spike up and remain consistent in the next few months as AAA titles are released. 2014 is a very important year for the poor Wii U.
I’m hoping for DK in Feb, Maybe BAYO in March, Mario kart 8 in April, Yarn Yoshi in May, Hyrule Warriors in June, and that would honestly be a perfect first half of 2014 for the Wii U.

No chance as Japanese do not like Microsoft, but they also are more demanding consumers and even the perception of weakness can lead to the failing of an established companies product or the company itself. Nintendo will not fail anytime soon, but I fear for the Wii U’s success with all the negative propaganda taking a toll. I only hope it sells enough to maintain support from Nintendo for the next 6 years. I have a feeling they will pull the plug early when it’s time to replace the 3DS and they may be tempted to merge their handheld and home console system into one product, as they are already doing with their offices.

Yeah. I still have Sony products from the 90’s that work like they’re brand new; and all of my PlayStation devices have worked great. Never had a problem with any of them and they all still work (minus the PS 3D Display – only thing).
