Kickstarter Campaign Launched For Sequel To WiiWare Title La-Mulana

La-Mulana – a 2D side-scrolling Archeology adventure – launched as WiiWare back in 2011 for Japan and, subsequently, 2012 for the West, but now its creators are focusing on a new venture for the game’s fans. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched to fund the sequel, aptly named La-Mulana 2, with an initial funding goal of $200,000.

The game’s developer, Nigoro, is looking to bring the 2D Metroidvania-inspired platformer to the PC. However, stretch goals have been added for handhelds at $1,150,000 and home console versions, including Wii U, at $1,650,000. Even if those jaw-dropping numbers don’t faze you, there is a larger stretch goal for the Wii, standing at an impressive but eye-watering $2,350,000.

Besides the considerable stretch goals in place, La-Mulana 2 is already on track to reach its initial funding goal and stands around a neat $40,000 at the time of writing. Make sure you check out Nigoro’s Kickstarter video – posted above – if you’re unfamiliar with the title, plus you can also check out their official website.

              1. Im not gay, but i support the fact they consider adding ALL kind of protagonist, not restricting themselves to sexist ones

      1. But in this case that picture is clearly a woman because she has breasts…

Why does she look like a man in the game is my objection…

    1. I’m not sure you watched far enough into the video. The woman is for La Mulana-2, the sequel they are trying to create. The original had a male main character.

    1. I’d assume it’s because they are not current gaming systems – I can’t speak for the developer, but I would take a stab in the dark that most people who are interested in funding the game would have current generation systems.

  1. Aren’t people sick of funding indie developers millions of pounds to produce mediocre titles. Yes, theres the occassional diamond in the rough but most of these games are meh.

    1. i support indie devs, but Kickstarter is too much spammed with LAME games that end up being ported on many systems, encourage other ppl, and they make new lame games
and no, there’s “Diamond on the rough” rank, and “LAME” rank

      1. I SAID ALL THAT KICKSTARTED SHIT SO YEAH I DONT FUCKING CARE IF CHUCK NORRIS IS ONE OF THE DEVS. STILL GARBAGE. WHY DO U THINK THEY BEG U FOR MONEY? CUZ NO STUDIOS WANT TO PUBLISH THEIR MESSY GAMES.

        1. well, that game was considered by Capcom to be made as Megaman
that and A Hat in Time are the only Kickstarter proyects i support

          1. I SAID I DONT FUCKING CARE WHOS CREATING THE GAME, IF THE GAME IS ON KICKSTARTED I DONT NEED NO EXPLANATION.

            SO BYE

            1. Inticreate create Megaman Zero 1-4 and Megaman ZX(Advent)
also, the first game funded on Kickstarter on japan. it is incredible cool and wa created to rant over Crapcom new “megaman games” that’s why I like it

              1. GOOD FOR YOU. I DONT LIKE MEGAMAN THATS WHY I DONT HAVE FUCKS TO GIVE. BUT I SAW THAT HAT GAME AND THOUGHT LOOKED GOOD MAYBE CUZ REMIND ME OF WIND WAKER

  2. One kickstarted game i’ve expressed any interest to is a hat in time but i havent heard anything about it lately so ive lost interest

    1. I’m a backer of “GhostSong.” The devs have been very responsive and are doing well at reaching out to their fans.

Fingers crossed it turns out ok.

      1. Do you know what happens if you donate to a kickstarter campaign, but it doesn’t reach enough money to be funded? Do you get your money back?
