Mighty No.9 First Screens From The Alpha Build

mighty_no9_alpha_footage

Mighty No.9 director Keiji Inafune has shared some screenshots from the alpha build of the game. For those not in the know the game is thought to be the spiritual successor to the popular Mega Man series. The build of the game is still early, so the visuals in the final product are bound to look slightly different. What do you think to the latest screens?

Thanks, Kyle

    1. agreed … reminds me of megaman powered up … i liked it, but not the same … also, looks a little mega man x which i don’t like as much as the orig also … something’s just a little ‘off’ for me … i don’t like too much detail i think – with mega man

yah, i’m comparing this to mega man

        1. I actually encourage you to write on their forums and tell them what you feel. The people behind this game have said since day 1, that customer feedback is their highest priority.

And I must agree….It might be that I expected more of a hand-drawn feel over a 3D model feel….but something doesn’t seem right in these images.

          1. This kind of feedback-driven development is not open to experience, but rather mass feedback. So I know a lot about game design, but my opinion is not going to be taken with more importance than others

Considering yet that I’d be an outsider or disliked member of the community (like I am here), my opinion would be ignored on a cascade of popularity driven comments from the most popular members of the community

I’m also not a fan of working for free, but that’s a minor thing

    1. if you did research, Mighty No 9 is Inafune’s creating
he is the same guy that made Megaman
But on the recent year, Crapcom has shown to be handling the franchise rather awful
So Inafune created this on HIS name so he can do similar stuff that he did with Megaman but under his direction

      1. Is the same person so what? Miyamoto created super mario and pikmin. . . They are similar in art style BUT no more. . . This is trying to be megaman so hard that it isnt even interesting . . .

          1. could i please unlearn everything you mentioned about Inafune, please?

crap is crap … no matter how much you rub it with Inafune.

            1. You know nothing Ted. I’m a backer of this project. Inafune said himself that this is the spiritual successor to Mega Man, so no shit it has similarities. Also, this is the Alpha Build. Try opening your mind a bit

                1. Yeah. And people that care about the game are fully aware of that. You aren’t causing any shit. WE ALREADY KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE LIKE MEGA MAN, which is why we backed it on Kickstarter. What don’t you understand about that?

      2. inafune didn’t design megaman characters before Megaman X and he only made zero and revisions to megaman’s existing design.

      3. from http://capcom.wikia.com/wiki/Mega_Man_(Character):

“During a special event at the 2007 Tokio Game Show, Inafune revealed that he was not responsible for the creation of Mega Man himself. “I’m often called the father of Mega Man, but actually, his design was already created when I joined Capcom,” he explained. “My mentor (Capcom senior member Akira Kitamura), who was the designer of the original Mega Man, had a basic concept of what Mega Man was supposed to look like. So I only did half of the job in creating him. I didn’t get to completely design a Mega Man [protagonist] from scratch until Zero (Mega Man X, SNES)”

  1. It’s like people missed the point of the whole kickstarter… You’ve been wanting more Megaman after you have 10+ of the same game, and now you’re complaining that the new thing is too similar? Isn’t that why you backed it in the first place?!

    1. That’s why I backed it. The people who are complaining are posers. Why would people back it without knowing what it was?

      1. Yeah it seemed pretty obvious to me that it was going to be just like Megaman but updated in a few areas and with new characters. I don’t know what people were expecting…

    1. oh wait i dont give a flying fuck. This game looks like utter shit. i mean seriously, a reboot of megaman my ass. it’s like they dug it up and pissed all over it. what a disgrace. Kickstarters please fuck off. Indies please stop copying old games and making them your own you cheap fucks

      1. Inafune was the creator of the Megaman franchise
so, your argument of “copying old games and make them your own” is invalid on this one

      1. All I see are those same hash tags he posts. I think he’s not that clever trolling, but instead copy and paste the same hash tags.

  5. The people saying this game looks so BLAND or bad, congrats. You just said a game that has been in development for a few months that is in Alpha, looks bad.

Stop talking out of your buttholes

    1. I think people react that way because the artwork inafune put on his kickstarter page looks very different. One might think the game was supposed to be hand drawn.
