Square Enix has released on online survey to gauge fan feedback on the popular Kingdom Hearts franchise. The survey asks what platforms gamers are playing on and which genre’s people prefer. Although Kingdom Hearts 3 isn’t coming to Wii U, it’s worth letting Square Enix know that there are Wii U owners out there that want the game. You can take part in the survey, right here.

All Kingdom Hearts 2 was is “PRESS TRIANGLE” and you win. Not much thought process,
If a series has a story, it makes sense to start at the beginning (i.e. Kingdom Hearts 1). If gameplay improves in each new game, it also makes sense to start at the beginning. If you play 2 first it will be much harder to appreciate 1, and if you play 1 you will likely appreciate the improvements made in 2.

Play the first game and then play the rest in the order that they were released.
I can recommend you to play every single Kingdom Hearts, the one which I played were Re:coded and 358/2 Days and in the next holidays I’m going to play Chain of Memories and 3D. I can really recommend you to play the one I played, but start with playing 358/2 Days, because it’s so fantastic and you get a lesson what Kingdom Hearts is. In re:coded are some changes (every world has his own gameplay) but after 358/2 Days I can recommend you to play Re:coded.
If you guys haven’t done this already, ask SE for a FF7 remake. Also on Wii U.
They have already said they wont do a FF& remake cause “it takes effort and money.” And to be honest, I am sick of remakes. To damn many of them lately.

Start with the first game that released. it’s not as exciting as the others, but if you want the story start with Kingdom Hearts, then move on passed Chain of Memories, to Kingdom Hearts II unless you want to play a long boring story that just basically introduces a new villain (Org. XIII) and ends up putting the Hero “Sora” to sleep in a big container. After you play those play Birth by Sleep, It’s really good for a handheld Kingdom Hearts game.
The only handheld version I hated was Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, but later they remade it for console and it was okay. But I will not forgive 358/2 days, it was the worst one by far, do not play that one.
unless you need to know what was happening behind the scenes of Kingdom Hearts, and Kingdom Hearts II
honestly… just buy Kingdom Hearts 1.5 for PS3, then Kingdom Hearts 2.5 which comes out this year. they include every Kingdom Hearts game up to date in HD that matters and in order as well. If you don’t have a PS3 then… I don’t know what to say. Maybe watch a playthrough?
Kingdom Hearts is my favorite series in gaming. It has a very well thought out story and I haven’t played anything that can compare to the fun it provided me.
I filled this out yesterday and had to lol at the fact that Square Enix completely left the Vita out of every bit of consideration. But yeah, I did ask for KH on the Wii U and Vita when they asked for feedback and what we would want. ;)

I think it’s a unreality, but I would like them to bring the complete trilogy, not just the third, after all, none of the mayor titles of the franchise have been published on a Nintendo home console.
But several handheld games have been on Nintendo systems. I would have picked the Wii U over the Xbox One to accompany the PS4 with the release of KH III. Makes little sense. (money)

See, that’s what I don’t like about this whole, “Oh we’ll bring it to Xbox One as a first kh title and nothing else. But we’re not giving them a 1.5 or 2.5 ReMix like we did for the PS3” If they’re going to release it on a console that has never had the title, I’d like to see the ReMix’s come to those consoles as well. I swear someone said something about them wanting all the games on one console, but if that’s the case they should of released 1.5 and 2.5 on PS4… and Xbox One if they were truly that dedicated to getting all the games on a console. heck, even Wii U, it wouldn’t be the first KH to come to a Nintendo system.

There are plenty of wii u owners who would love to have kingdom hearts 3! Having some of the games on nintendo’s handhelds was a fantastic idea. Now that the 3rd main installment of the series is coming out, having the game on the wii u would not be a disappointment.

Actually, they said they couldn’t bring it too Wii U because Wii U doesnt support DX11. However, PS4 doesnt either, because Microsoft holds the copyright, it uses an OpenGL similar to DX11. The Wii U actually runs something similar to DX10.9, which is basically DX11 minus streaming, which shouldn’t prove a problem.

Which is a moronic decision on Square’s part. A large chunk of the KH fanbase are Nintendo fans. Even if the Xbox One sells more units by the time this comes out it would still sell better on the Wii U ala Rayman Legends.
I couldn’t agree more. Same with FF15, FF is for the most part on Nintendo systems for spinoffs, remakes, and games 1 to 6 and Sony systems for 7 and onward, so FF15 should’ve just been a PS4 exclusive since it was meant to be an exclusive for PS3 anyway. I doubt Square’s gonna profit much from the Xbox One versions of FF15 and KH3.

Just because a bunch of people write they want the game on WiiU, doesn’t mean Square Enjx will suddenly change their minds. 10000 people saying they want to see the game on WiiU doesn’t mean 10000 people will buy it in the end, and Square Enix is very well aware of that. And actually, I don’t really think it would sell all too well on the WiiU, because I’d assume that many WiiU owners haven’t played any of the previous main parts. And not many people would want to jump into a franchise starting with the 3rd main part of it, ignoring the other two + the spin-offs. The chances of not understanding the plot would be too high and I don’t think many people want to spend $60 on a game they’ll end up not understanding. I personally wouldn’t really consider buying the 3rd part of a game without having played the previous ones either. Besides, 3rd party titles, especially multiplats, rarely ever sell well on Nintendo’s platforms. Japan probably would be the only region it would sell well in.
Oh yes, that’s why the Xbox One TOTALLY deserves this game more than the Wii U. The Kingdom Hearts series has never touched a Microsoft system until now. Sure the series has only been on Nintendo handhelds but Nintendo fans know way more of the story than Xbox fans do. And the handheld games even have recaps of the story from each game for those who haven’t followed.
And why should Nintendo fans be called out for “port begging”? They deserve this game more than Xbox fans do. And then you have everyone else in the world crying for Bayonetta 2 and pretty much every Nintendo 1st party title. Hypocrites….

And about Bayonetta 2… I think you’re overestimating the number of people who are hyped for it. Even Japan doesn’t seem to be too hyped about it, from what I’ve seen on those “Japan’s most wanted games”-charts that have been going around lately.

I’m guessing the only reason they’re bringing it to Xbox One as well is because the architecture of both the PS4 and Xbox One aren’t too different from each other, which allows porting to be rather easy. The WiiU on the other hand is much different from the other two consoles, which brings up the question if the effort of porting it will turn out profitable in the end. And as I said in my previous comment, looking back at how “well” 3rd party titles (especially multiplats) sell on Nintendo’s platforms, the tendency doesn’t look very profitable, which makes developers decide against porting their games on the WiiU, or even develop for it exclusively.

The gamepad was expensive to develop for and the whole point of the gamepad was to be able to play games in a portable fashion. The Wii U is good but there are some major flaws. No one can deny that.

The best part is that they probably wouldn’t even have to downgrade the graphics that much. We have evidence that the Wii U can run some pretty gorgeous games already (I mean seriously, they somehow managed to get WWHD looking better than the original, which is quite a feat). So if they did a port, as long as they used the Architecture of the Wii U correctly, we could mabe even get a game looking on par with PS4/Xbone. Though they probably wouldn’t take the time unfortunately

Capcom ported Resident Evil 2 onto the N64. While the hardware was twice as powerful (in terms of raw tech #s), the N64 certainly wasn’t the highest selling console in the 5th gen, nor the easiest to develop for. Yet, not only did it get RE2, but ∅ was an N64 exclusive, until development jumped to GCN.
Tales of Symphonia was released on the GCN (3rd place in the 6th gen), & ‘Only for’ in that era. & yet it was the best selling Tales game released in the West then. The GCN was starving for a good JRPG & Ninty fans are generally very receptive to such titles.
So, why won’t Square-Enix release Kingdom Hearts III for Wii U? Because it skips 1 & II?
They could port the HD 1.5 & 2.5 ReMIXes to Wii U, but they aren’t even doing that for X1. Even still:
Atlus released #IV of the mainline Shin Megami Tensei series on the 3DS when the handheld only ever got spinoffs.
So, again, why won’t Square-Enix release Kingdom Hearts III for Wii U? Small userbase? Or because it skips I & II? I think the question is: why has a mainline KH title broken its PS exclusivity? Because the X1’s architecture is nearly identical to PS4’s, & 3rd parties will multi-plat whenever possible (unless they receive a fat contract not to). Also, MS seems to pay Japanese publishers to release RPGs for the Xbox brand.
So, Square-Enix’s decission is likely just business, architecture, & politics. They’re already catering to the mainline’s audience, but throwing in the X1 as an easy bonus (shocked there’s no PC version announced). But, a Wii U port was never outright dismissed, & like the PS3’s struggle, it’ll likely take some time for Wii U to gain the ground it needs. I’m sure Wii U is capable of delivering a great KH III experience, I just don’t know how experienced Square-Enix is to unlock Wii U’s potential. Then again, Silicon Studios who developed Square-Enix’s Bravely Default have said:
“Wii U has very specific characteristics. Some game designers will like it. Some others will have a hard time to port their game. There are pros and cons. We are very close to Nintendo, so we were working on Wii U for a long time. We almost got the maximum performance with the hardware. Since we are working closely with the Nintendo support team they gave us a lot of useful information.
“I think it was a bit of having a headstart and there was a lot of continuity from the Wii in terms of architecture. They added a significant amount of horsepower, but there was no revolution needed at the engine level to take advantage of it.”
When asked if other people will be using Silicon Studio’s tools, Terada noted that it won’t be happening just yet since the company only recently began selling it on Wii U.
“Not yet, I think. We have an internal development team, but we just started to sell it on Wii U.”
