New Super Mario Bros Devs Helped Out With Yoshi’s New Island

It has been revealed that numerous developers from the New Super Mario Bros team helped out Arzest on Yoshi’s New Island. Interestingly, legendary Nintendo developer Takashi Tezuka who produced all of the New Super Mario Bros and Yoshi’s Island games also helped Arzest develop the game.  Here’s some of the other devs.

  • Nobuo Matsumiya, who was the director of Yoshi’s Island DS and worked on level designs for New Super Mario Bros. 2
  • Yuya Sato, a level designer on New Super Luigi U and New Super Mario Bros. 2
  • Kenta Usui, a level designer on New Super Mario Bros. Wii, New Super Mario Bros. U, and New Super Luigi U
  • Toyokazu Nonaka, who was most recently a producer on the new StreetPass games

Thanks, Someone

      1. Theres only one for each console, but yeah, they did release them close to each other! But now we won’t have a NSMB game until next generation, and I hope it’s even better than NSMBU, the only good NSMB game IMO!

          1. Well, as I said, I only liked NSMBU. NSMB2 felt unoriginal (played it after NSMBU, though), with boring levels. Well, everyone has their own opinion!

  1. I actually love the NSMB series…Except New Super Mario Bros. 2 for Nintendo 3DS was rather lack-luster in all regards. I’m really not sure about this game…I want to see reviews..and, honestly, I’d prefer Yarn Yoshi.

  2. Why is it everything they touch always a rehash. And how is the NSMB producer legendary when he hasn’t even produced a quality game like Miyamoto.

  3. the whole point of this article was to show you that the console development team as well as a handheld development team jointly worked on a title. it goes to show you that intendo made the right decision when they decided to combine both divisions.
