Nintendo Joins National Park Foundation To Support The 2014 White House Easter Egg Roll

Nintendo of America announced today that it will join with the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, to bring fun, active-play video games to the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Nintendo will be at the event with Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club, two Wii U games that ask players to get up off their couches and get active. The two games align with this year’s theme of the event, “Hop into Healthy, Swing into Shape,” which encourages children and families to live healthier and more active lifestyles. Visitors can play Wii Fit U and Wii Sports Club on the Ellipse before they head over to the nearby South Lawn of the White House. In addition, Mario and Luigi costumed characters will also be on site to greet guests, take photos with fans and cheer on families as they play.

The White House Easter Egg Roll, which takes place in President’s Park on the South Lawn of the White House, supports the First Lady’s Let’s Move! initiative to help kids grow up healthy and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. In addition, the official White House Easter Eggs, sold by the National Park Foundation and benefiting America’s national parks, are available at easter.nationalparks.org.

  1. as sony and microsoft focus on there gaming consoles and adding new features. nintendon’t ignores all the wii u together just to go the national park foundation. lol.

    1. Idiot. If half the people that go to that event don’t own a Wii U or those games & enjoy the hell out of them while playing them at the event, will definitely go buy them if their parents can afford them. It’s called good publicity.

    2. If Nintendo had continued their Wii Sports and Wii Fit series’ more dynamically then the Wii U would have sold double what it has now, like it or not. Nintendo have realised this too late.

      1. If they would’ve made a 3rd Wii Sports with online instead of that Nintendoland garbage with 7-10 two minute mini games for launch, more or less it could’ve help Wii U kick off better plus holding off Mario Party 9 and Kirby’s Return to Dreamland for Wii U launch title lineup like they did with Pikmin 3 since they were all gonna be released in the same year.

      1. Awesome ass video and actaully true when you think about.

As just as every thought, Microsoft killed and corrupt video gaming as we know it from the very start. Westernized gaming market is welcome but too much catering of it will be the grand Achilles Heel for all sides in the end. At least Nintendo isn’t much of a western sucker like Sony and Microsoft but they should try to embrace some of that western gaming standards but not by so much that it’ll abandon their own positive side altogether and be known as a sellout.

    3. What those guys are focusing on for their consoles is Microsoft damage control over DRM and Sony damage control on money from other failing departments and both consoles aren’t even dishing out that many games.

While Nintendo is making good publicity by joining a National Park and personally allowing people there and more to experience Wii U first hand and even showing off demos of upcoming games that’ll help it sell better.

So who’s good at REAL public image making? The dymanic duo popping a Youtube video describing how “good” there console sounds until they try and, by chance, happen to dislike what it offers and return em or making public events to draw efficient attention and assurance that people will know what the console is like and what it offers.

You got Real Publicity and Youtube ads confused.

    1. Nintendo Commander Quadraxis

That’s your school giving you hamburgers and other junk food every day in school…

America at its finest, killing its own people while killing others…

      1. Hey commander, just remember which country won the Olympics ;)

Stereotyping sucks, and you shouldn’t be endorsing it.

        1. Dont blame him for expressing America as the rest of the world sees it for the same thing and I do only half agree with it.

But that all depends on who’s in charge and who voted who.

    2. Not only you’re facially ugly but a fat ass too? As expected but thanks for telling the first real truth out of your shitty mouth in a VERY LONG time.
