Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival Planned For European 3DS Release Next Month

Konami has announced it will bring popular 3DS title Yu-Gi-Oh Zexal World Duel Carnival to Europe. Planned for release this June, the competitive card game was released in Japan last winter under the name Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal: Clash Duel Carnival, and is the first 3DS game based on the animated Zexal series.

Released as both a digital eShop download and in retail stores, the game is scheduled to launch on June 26. According to Konami’s press release, three exclusive and highly collectable cards will be packaged with the physical cartridge, namely Snow Plow Hustle Rustle, Night Express Knight and Special Schedule. There’s currently no word on whether this will reach North America, but we’ll keep our eyes peeled in the mean time. For more details on the game, you can check out the press release below.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival is based on characters and events from the popular TV series. The game centres on the titular World Duel Carnival where 11 playable characters are vying to compete. Each character has a bespoke card deck, and this allows users to get straight into the action as they select their favourite character and enter hard-fought duels with the cards they hold.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival also allows the player to develop their character’s deck, with advanced users able to build a custom deck from the 5,500 cards the game contains. Similarly, a total of 40 characters from the TV show feature in the game, who players will meet as they prepare for the tournament. Newcomers to the series will also be able to hone their skills courtesy of the game’s tutorial elements, making Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival the perfect jump-on point for newcomers to the world of Yu-Gi-Oh!

    1. This isn’t for the fans of the Card Game, this is more for the fans of the show, because 5,500 cards doesn’t seem even though I think that is the right amount of cards released, their are of ton of normal monster, effect monsters, synchro’s, xyz’s, fusions, rituals, spell, and trap cards. I myself a fan of the game, am not a fan of zexal

      1. It’s for fans of the card game too.

The World Championship series was a yearly game, like CoD, with each installment catching up to date with the card list and including a single player campaign that reflects the anime, but at heart it’s main title feature was the online multiplayer.

I have no idea what this game is though… Since they stopped the World Championship games when they made the online PC game…

  1. They should go to the older Yu-Gi-Oh with Yugi and Kaiba and stuff, and then make a Wii U game so that the gamepad is like the duel glove((?), don’t know what it’s called).

Not interested in this at all, but good for the current fans though.

    1. well it just came out in december so 2 years is kinda an exageration and even if the yugio zexal series wasn’t as good as the others, the play style and the new metagames that this series brought to the game were the most relevants by now.
