Nintendo Europe has teased on Twitter that there could be more game modes to come in Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 3DS. The Nintendo 3DS version of the game launches on October 3rd in the United States, while the Wii U version is scheduled to launch winter.

The Wii U version has nothing announced. It’s $20 more expensive. You would expect there to be SOMETHING. ANYTHING.

Classic is back but a bit different. Home-Run Contest, Multi-Man Contest, and possibly Boss Mode are returning as well.

I’m sure the Wii u will have exclusive modes not on the 3ds. They are probably going to wait to promote then until after the 3ds version.
That’s the most logical thing to do. I doubt they would leave the Wii U version without any exclusive modes of it’s own since it has more power for one thing, and most hardcore players will play that version more. I’ll have both, but whoever thinks the 3DS will be superior one based off portability and 3D instead of a nice big HD screen with FAR more comfortable and FAR less cramped buttons and such is kidding themselves. I switched to an XL cause mario kart 7 was so cramped that I literally got joint pains for months. XL is better, but still can’t compare to the gamepad or pro controller and certainly not the cube. And I’m a skinny guy and only 5’7 with a regular to small sized hands, I’m not a big tall dude with big hands lol. If anyone does prefer the 3DS version, that’s fine of course, and I won’t knock their opinion or preference. As long as everyone gets the version they feel most comfortable with. Played a match last night btw and it was pretty sweet but 2 minutes is pretty quick to take it all in when everyone is going at it.
I’m 5’7 as well and the 3DS is pretty uncomfortable to hold. However, for at least a year I’ve been using one of those GIANT Nerf skins. It protects it considerably and makes it much easier to play. My small hands aren’t so cramped and I don’t have to use a stand to play Kid Icarus: Uprising.
I’m sure they meant the ones shown in the trailer..such as events, home run, that percentage 9 team player thing, dem graphs, dat Kid-Icarus-Uprisng-Style power difficulty increasing for greater rewards for something and that one Map-style adventure thing that you see Mario choosing and walking on paths.
