Canada Won’t Be Getting Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire At Same Time As US

JoeM86 from the NeoGAF forums has done a little digging and it appears as though Canada won’t be receiving Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire at the same time as the United States. Gamers in the US will get the game on November 21st and Europe will get the game on November 28th. It’s possible Canada will get it at the same time as Europe, but it’s not confirmed.

Thanks to those who sent this in.

      1. it was once very common for Canada to always get it the next day after U.S. … and may have been due to shipping more than anything (tightening the distribution)

however, that’s rare lately … i believe you should still be able to get this game same-day as U.S.

amazon has notoriously shipped items a day before the release date and with U.S. having same-day-delivery, this is an opportunity to get it early … in Canada, it takes no less than 2 business days anyway so the U.S. has always had deliver-ability advantages over Canada throughout history.

      1. our games and consoles are the same price as the states except for the ps4, its games and accessories which have been a few dollars more since march

          1. The 5$ extra is only temporary when the games are out for a little longer the price goes back down to regular. Just wait, i didn’t wait for Mario kart 8 cuz we got a free game with it so it was a good deal but its only a bit extra anyway its more the taxes that suck.

    1. Yes, take that, customers! This is what you get for stores taking action beyond your control! Especially the vast majority of you who did not, in fact, receive the game early!

  1. This is what happens when you sell a game early!!

If they have someone to blame is the guy who posted the leaked photos pre-launch and the countries that sold it breaking the street date.

Same reason why a punk kid like you is “buying” the same old Call of Duty: for the new story & game play elements that the previous game didn’t have.

        1. I looked at his youtube channel, and his house is a piece of shit. He is a hater, and look at his video comments.

          SASORI, YOU DONT BELONG HERE

    1. The price is based on your countries economy. So if your economy sucks ass, then the pricing will suck ass.

  2. In the 80’s and 90’s Canada often got games much later than the US. We’re already getting screwed with no eshop promo’s on funds and higher prices, so why not this as well?

  3. Hmm so they are doing it because of broken release date, well hopefully this will be the only time its delayed for canada and EU…though if they are singling out one country like Canada I honestly don’t think they should have delayed Europe as a whole, just the country that originally did it.

      1. No, Italy (At least I think it was them.) released x & y early and then proceeded to post spoilers online. Canada did soon after.

  4. Nintendo has found Canada guilty of selling Pokemon X/Y early.
Sentence: Get Pokemon ORAS at a later date.

No one disobeys Nintendo and gets away with it.

    1. You know, you’re a moron.
Myself and one of my friends in Québec looked everywhere and never saw that early.
      You’re a fanboy.
So what if a few morons sold it early, that’s not a whole country you idiot.

      1. You know what I find funny? You’re calling someone a fanboy, yet you’re taking my small joke REALLY personally. I can care less whether you got your game early or not. If you’re going to act like a child and resort to calling others names just to justify your argument, then you need to point the finger at yourself before pointing it at others.

Just so you know, if you hadn’t made those childish remarks, I probably even taken back what I said. Why? Because I can admit I behave a little immature, especially when I don’t know the “full story” of my argument.
And yes, I am a fanboy, just not the internet’s version of what a fanboy is. I hold the highest respect for Nintendo since owning my first handheld and I also hold their competitors (Sony and Microsoft) in high regard also.

I wonder if my friend from Gaia who is Canadian himself owns a 3DS & plays Pokemon. I should find out next time he’s on.

  6. One theory i heard was the game infringed on an ESRB standard in Europe so game freak has to fix it for it to fit the rating they wanted, but come on guys. It’s one week. We used to have to wait months after Japan for release. I’m lucky enough to be in America though- I’ll be nice and won’t spoil anything for you.

    1. The whole country has to be punished if they let it slide the ppl will continue doing it just has to happen. Deal with it or move to another country.

  7. You’re all wrong, it’s probably the French translation. Have you noticed “Fr: Playable in French” on all of NOCL’s games lately?

  8. The FR mark wouldn’t matter notice how X Y you had to choose the language? Yeah they’re probably gonna do that from now on so the American “copy” will still have the French language
