Super Smash Bros director Masahiro Sakurai has revealed new alternate costumes for both Samus and Mario. Sakuari announced that Samus will now be able to wear the Light Suit from Metroid Prime 2: Echos. Not be outdone, Mario now has a costume based on Family Computer Golf: U.S. Course! NES Open Tournament Golf.

Same thoughts here bud, the light suit skin is OK, but it could have been better, for starter the arm cannon could have been re-skinned too, to look like the original Prime games and make Sammy look a lil´bit more like she is actually wearing the light suit.
Or make the same thing they did with Wario in SMBB, Wario had 4 skin colors plus a classic Wario outfit in 4 colors.
A lot of us would agree. The alternate outfit he revealed for Link was okay since it looks awesome. But this! This is horrible! The Light Suit looks 10x better than this color swap. :/

It looks like it’s just a black and white Varia suit. I would have like it much better if it was the actual Light Suit. Still, I will probably use those colors every time I play Samus. Can’t wait for this game.

Both are pretty cool, although I can’t help but think that the Mario one is a wasted spot for a better alt. The Samus one is great, though, and I don’t even like the light suit that much.
To be honest, it doesn’t resemble the Light Suit much at all anyway…
A bit disappointing even if I like it…
The characters seem to have one or two intelligent palette swap (like Mac’s title defense outfit) and one true alternative outfit, like the sweatshirt one or the opposite gender Villager/Wii Fit Trainer. Maybe Sakurai’s saving that one for the Dark or Power Suit, since they’re more different to the Varia Suit, who knows.

Costumes are debatable but the graphics do look sharp whether you think that is important or not… but love it when gameplay starts to match cut scenes or intros like the Wii U games have so far

The Light Suit looks pretty awesome! That’s what I like to see from these alt costumes and if looks very solid. Almost like a Pacific Rim robot, but handheld
I like the Samue one, even if it isn’t a perfect light suit replica it does look great for her theme in this game and still screams “light suit.”
I think the Mario one would be cool if the flag theme changed depending on what country you are in. Otherwise… I don’t see why it’s needed outside of the US version.

I can’t help to notice that most of the people who hate it are not US citizens and those who love it are obviously US and slag people who hate it. I don’t care about the costume to be honest I don’t even plan to buy the game but it’s interesting to read how people react.

No it’s does not, I love street fighter, king of fighter, Mortal Kombat, Dragon ball z fighting games (from SNES areas) and old 2D fighting /beat them up game but smash bro it does not do it for me. I played the game cube and the wii version (i even own a hacked copy) I found that game boring.
People have different taste and in a way it’s good and I would not slag people who love that game. as I would not slag people who love COD or FIFA unless they start slagging me off.
Saying that I like to see people expressing their love/excitement for a game even if I don’t like the game (i.e. smash bro or star fox).
