Japan: Wii U Sells 8K And Nintendo 3DS Sells 37K

This week’s Japanese software and hardware charts are now in thanks to Media Create. PlayStation 3 exclusive Persona 4 Arena Ultimax has dethroned the unstoppable Yokai Watch 2 on the Nintendo 3DS. Wii U sales remain steady this week at 8K while Hyrule Warriors slips down to number fourteen. Here’s the Japanese software and hardware charts this week.

      Most people I talked to in Japan when I was there a few weeks ago didn’t know anything about the Xbox 360, so the Xbox One will tank.

          This is a logical statement you replied with, if only I did have the power to predict the future so accurately. In Tokyo though the presence of Xbox was hard to find anywhere, and I went to tons of shops that sold games.

    It’ll be this way until Nintendo gets third parties back. Should’ve put third party characters as assist trophies in Smash and have demos for their games come packaged with Mario, Zelda, etc., cuz Nintendo fans by and large (and by sales numbers) don’t like to try new things.

      It’ll be what way? 1st in hand held and 1st in console sales? Sure the games don’t appear to sell as well, but besides brand new games, Nintendo still has the best selling console game and that 3ds game that has third is selling great and been out for a while. You simply don’t know what you are talking about

          The numbers themselves has more to do with the market…. you can only be number 1 to a certain degree. I guess what my opinion is, is that Nintendo is doing fine where slow and steady can win the race, or at least let you qualify to keep playing.

      Yeah well, we’re sorry. I’m glad the Vita is doing better for itself. Hopefully the Wii U can catch up… to handheld. So that I can play MK8 with a wider variety of people. Instead of bumping into the same couple of people AGAIN AND AGAIN (Who might have been on my friends list and I just didn’t realize it) Stupid cell phone games are the enemy. Competition is better for consumers in the long run. As true gamers, we are allies with similar goals.

    Oh man, seeing Rise in that picture on this Nintendo site made me think that this was going to be an article about a Persona game for Wii U… You can imagine how severely disappointed I was to find out that it wasn’t. :(

    Interesting to see that mario kart have not hit the 1M mark in Japan. The game was release on 29/05/2014. So 3 months after it’s 650K units sold. Saying that Yokai watch hits 2.36M and was release on 10/07/2014.

    I was hoping hyrule warrior will do better than that 7.65K in two weeks that really poor….

    On the other hand PS4 does not shine at all in this region

    WHY? WHY the 3DS is still selling like gangbusters in Japan? They already know they will have a “new”, better and with exclusive games 3DS in a couple months, is not it?
