Japanese magazine Famitsu has revealed new details for Square Enix’s upcoming RPG sequel Bravely Second. After a successful stream last week in Japan, producer Tomoya Asano confirmed fan-favourite character Edea Lee from Bravely Default would return for the sequel. Famitsu reports – and as translations suggest – that the brave soldier is now the leader of the Imperial Knights and stars as a main character in the game. The scan shown below depicts her as a couple of years older, however, it’s not yet confirmed whether fans will be able to play as her in-game just yet.
Aside from Edea’s return, a new feature named the Barter Sub-Scenario system and a new pâtisserie or Pastry Chef job has been revealed for the sequel. More details are set to come on the above in next week’s issue of Famitsu. Bravely Second is due to arrive in Japan on April 23. A western release has yet to be confirmed.
I’m very looking forward to this game. Bravely Default was a pearl of JRPGs, a treasure, but the end was a clusterfuck ( dafuk were they thinking ). I expect Bravely Second to correct that and to be what Bravely Default should have been : a pretty much flawless JRPG.
Why even report on games that aren’t announced to be localized?
So,e people will import the game I’m sure
I think they’re working on it
Has anyone ever noticed that when there’s a game you don’t care about, and have never played, sequels seem to come out SO rapidly for those games? Yet the games you DO love takes forever for a sequel. It just seems that way.
YES! Mrgrgr 4ever!
That’s great! I still need to play the first game though so Mrgrgr!!!

Never played the first game…
With the confirmation that Edea will make a return, Ringabel is the only other party member from the original left to be revealed for Bravely Second. I hope to see DeRosso & Yulyana return, as well. Unless the DeRosso that sacrificed himself to help destroy Ouroboros is the same DeRosso from their original world. After all, they never did specifically state which DeRosso sacrificed himself at the end of the game.
Because for all we know, anyone could use the light to go between worlds, not just Airy & those with her.
