Looks Like There’s A Zelda Majora’s Mask 3D Update Rolling Out

If you’re in Europe you may have been prompted to update your copy of The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. We’ve no idea what the latest update to the game addresses, but it’s certainly worth updating your game if you can. It would certainly be handy to have some patch notes. Some people on Twitter are stating that they’re getting an error when trying to update, so maybe it’s not ready just yet.

Thanks, MasterPikachu6

    1. The visuals have been greatly improved. The controls have been made smoother. Saving is easier (can be done at every owl statue not just a save state). The masks and items can now be used through touchscreen so you don’t need to pause the game all the time. Steering time is made more convenient and they made it easier to see when what would happen. Boss A.I. has been adjusted. Maybe there’s more, I have barely played it yet. It is one of the most thorough remakes that I’ve seen.

    2. Sorry man, I ain’t got time to help you, just take my advice and listen to anyone but Commandweller for advice about anything, especially sanity.

Suffice to say, even as a long-time Majora man who considers the game an unequaled piece of video game art, let alone the greatest Zelda game of all time, I can recognize that several of the changes made improved the game rather than the inverse. Everything can be improved.

Hopefully they remove the horrible civilian garbage changes but that’s just wishful thinking…

    1. l was actually rather happy with how they ”civilized” it. l was fearing the worst, but all they did was add a menu that kept track of the stuff you had to discover yourself. They never were like ”Go to a spot where grass is in a circle and cut all the grass at once while wearing the Keaton mask to get a price…” But something cryptic like ”lt seems like the fox-like spirits like playing in the grass…” That’s not giving things away, that is just jolting down information which you had to discover yourself first anyway

        1. Zora swim was overpowered compared to the goron roll and you know it. the swimming race had no challenge whatsoever originally, now you at least have to try. didnt you want a harder game? the save feature is a god sent for many of us who arent computers and actually have to save in order to preserve battery life and do our daily activities. how else would i spend my breaks in college?

            1. you ignored my response to the save feature… again, swimming was great for open areas in the original area, but in the temple, forget it. how would you make the beavers harder? its not a race its a go though hoops things… unless you want even more SuperMan 64 in zelda. the swimming is fine in this remake. either go TP swimming or go original zora swimming. considering how many pots are in the temple with magic, should be no problem. the only reason your upset about it is cause its not the same… well guess what, its a remake, not everything has to be the same. it is just as easy to swim around if you get the magic upgrade.

The save feature because it makes the games less stressful like it was, but that’s my own opinion…

                1. i get that its your own opinion… but saying it casualizes the game is a really stupid thing. im usually behind alot of things you say commander but this is dumb… the timers still there. it still ticks down. you can still fuck up a quest. its not like it takes away any of the challenge. it only improves the game itself by adding a feature that would allow many people who hated the original concept to give it a chance. you have to remember the save feature was AN AMERICAN THING. in the japanese original you, could only save with the song of time, imagine how it would have been if they had kept that for a handheld? the save feature gives alot of new players a chance to play and be stressed out. hell the Inverted song of time only slows down time by half now, not trice, making the game alot more harder.

I wasn’t impressed with the bosses but the zora controls can be fixed by one bottle of the inf magic milk and tweaking the controls in the settings all in all a pretty good game and way better than a link between worlds!

  2. l actually had something similar recently, when l opened the youtube-app on the 3ds it prompted the same ”there’s an update available” screen as above, but when l later looked in the e-shop for available updates it told me that there were none…

        1. It’s not DLC…it’s just an update. Also this is a remake of a classic game. There will never be new dungeons added to it.

          1. I’m just saying that my mind, for some reason, was so hyped for MM3D because everyone was talking about it all the time lol.
They COULD have added dungeons if they wanted to, but I guess I’m fine with what they had.

Meanwhile your precious Xbot Leaders are selling Xbot Hamburgers to make you silly Xbots even fatter as Mountain Dew and Doritos weren’t enough…

  3. I have a feeling it’s to address those fun bugs you can do in the game so that’s why the update is even glitched. But if that’s the case i don’t think anyone would want to

  4. people who complain about the saving are retards. some people have lives. if you don’t wanna save then don’t save. nobody likes a hardcore ass nerd.
